A COLLEGE WITH GREAT EXPOSURE

College is overall great if you're bagging and catching hold of every opportunity available there. Without opportunities, this college might just be another waste.

The course curriculum of the branches is really good as far as I can say. The curriculum offers many relevant subjects to the branch and is interesting enough to keep the students focused on the subjects. Me being in an automobile department have always loved the courses I've been offered. It has provided me with very in-depth knowledge of the automobiles and the related industry.

The placement of the college has been above average for automobile and mechanical. The placements of other branches like CSE and IT have been very great. On average, the package bagged by students is INR 7LPA.

Aarush is a techno-management fest focused mainly on electronics and robotics and gives students a chance to develop a skill in electronics and take part in events. Along with that, celebrities from various department visit campus. For example COKE STUDIO along with top singers. Milan is a pure cultural fest with a focus on performing and cultural arts and obviously celebrities' arrival is inevitable.

The tuition fee for the college when I took admission was 2.5 LPA which is totally justified by the labs provided to us. For instance one of the automobile labs focuses on various components of cars which costs a lot. The labs have 4-5 test vehicles imported from Europe. Hostel fees is another 1 lakh for the basic one where you get 3 sharing room.

No, I have not opted for any scholarships or education load so I cannot justify the same in 100 characters.

Campus life is great if you find the perfect group of friends which you can roam around and enjoy the big campus. There are technical teams available for BAJA SAE INDIA, SAE SUPRA which are high-level competition which gives a huge amount of exposure and experience in building an actual working car.

The hostel fees is another 1 lakh for a 3 sharing room and another 10k for an attached washroom. This price seems reasonable as compared to the AC rooms which are priced at 2.5 lakhs per annum. The hostel provides us with the basic facilities required to live without any hassle. Although north Indians might experience some issues with food provided as it is not up to the mark. The price of the hostel includes the mess.

The alumni network isn't that helpful. There are instances where students require some suggestions and help during some decision making which I think sometimes require help from the alumni which is not easily available unless you have any contact.

The application can be filled online once it gets open which is during the month of Sep/Oct. The application costs around INR 1000 bucks. After filling out the required application, one is eligible to attend the entrance test for Srm i.e. SRMJEEE. After the test, a rank list is generated and the applicants are given the dates for counselling acc. To the rank. Lower the rank, earlier one would be called.

The faculty of SRM is quite good. To be honest every college has two categories of faculties, the most experienced one and the least experienced one. But on a good note, SRM has fewer of the least experienced category and more of experienced teachers. The faculty which I have come across were very mich experienced and had detailed knowledge in the automobile field.
