The real struggle in SRM university

Positive remark is we will meet different people with different culture and habits. There is a diverse culture. Every festival is celebrated with full energy and enthusiasm. The negative remark is the language barrier.

The course has a beautiful structure. There are electives apart from your regular subject which add credit to your degree. There is a departmental and open elective for students if they have an interest in a different department. You should not carry backlogs for your placements.

Yes, college does provide courses, training programs and internships. There will be test and eligibility criteria for an internship, but for courses, they charge you and give the certificate. For internship, it depends upon the company who hires you as an intern. The company often give a pre-placement offer.

There are lot of opportunities in placements and pre-placement offer. But there is same placement for an IT and CSE student so if you are not getting CSE please go for IT instead of paying high fees in CSE. Most of the student get placed in 2019 batch.

Their is a main Cultural Fest and Techno-Fest. Students can participate and show their talents in the fest and win cash prices. SRM as a brand invites lot of celebrities for the functions. Sponsers have a give away contest and surprise contest.

The fess is ok compared to other private universities. The main advantage is it's not necessary for a student to pay the whole amount of the fees at once. at the time of admission, college demands a DD for Rs 1 lakh and before joining college you have to pay the remaining amount. But from next year student has to pay a minimum fee of 50,000 and the remaining fees can be paid within that semester before issuing of the end semester hall ticket.

College provides a scholarship of 20,000 to 40,000 to students scoring above 90% every year. But it is very difficult to get that score and meet the college requirements. The college will find a way to minimise the scholarship.

Labs are awesome equipped with tools and everything. Sport facilities are well maintained and renewed by time to time. There are college tech teams in which students can join and gain more practical knowledge from seniors and experience. Tech teams or Auto-teams have their separate fablabs for fabrication and maintenance.

Before when I joined the hostel room were hell but nowadays the hostel rooms are well maintained. Hostel is very near to your classrooms and facilities like gym, badminton court, football field, canteen, mess, prayer hall, library are provided.

Seniors are most helpful in SRM they treat you as your brother and the culture of ragging has vanished from SRM. Seniors help the juniors in the best way, but some seniors are might take advantage but you have to wisely choose your seniors.

It's an objective type of questions and is easy to crack. You will get around 2.5 or 3 hours to solve the paper and that can be done easily. The questions are mostly from ncert textbooks. Students must clear their basics and solve some numerical.

The criteria for SRM is to go through the SRMJEE exam. In which they ask mostly basic questions from 11th and 12th standard. Everyone can easily clear the test but your admission depends upon the rank you scored. So if you need CSE then your rank must be minimum 4000 not more than that. For other departments the seats are available but if your rank is above 10,000 then they admit you as 2nd category student. The students below 10,000 rank will have fees of about 2 Lakh per anum for every department, whereas if your rank is above 10,000 then your fees will directly strike to 3.5 lakh. Apart from the merit admission, the college has management Kota as well where you have to pay some amount of donation and the fees would be 4 or 4.5 lakh.

When you start your college class they assign you a class adviser and a class in-charge who stays with you at your back for 4 years. As we know every college have some irritating teachers but as an engineer you must know how to manage pressure and teacher. Some of the faculties are very friendly and they help you in every situations, every situation means anything apart from your college also. Teachers know that students are away from home and they become your family.
