Think merit think sastra

As a aerospace student i chose sastra because of its placements and the facility they have here for aerospace which is on par with some IIT's and the professors. U also have the opportunity to do research papers with the professors. The curriculum covers every aspect of the real world problems and how to think like a engineer and how to design projects and whatnot. The time given for eeach exam taking into account the portions for the exams is quite sufficient given that the student covers the portion taught everydayso there wont be any backlongs.

Not jus the college opportunities for internship but the students are the people who suually search for interships outside the college. But companies like tcs, zuho offers paid internships. Startup ideas are kost welcome at our university and they really support it.

A student who maintains above 8 cgpa till the last semester is eligible for campus placements. The package matters not only on your scores on your chosen course but also on the extra skills that you develop and sastra has all the facilites to grow your course skills as well as other skills which might compliment it. The companies mainly look for students who are versatile and can also handle tasks outside their course scope. The highest package here is 35 LPA and averae of 9 LPA and 85-90% of the students get placed while remaining opt for higher studies. For aerospace if u ask me, it is better to do m.tech to get better packages but there are chances u get above 12 LPA according to the extra skills u have developed.

Year wise fees will be around 1.75 lakhs.Per semester there will be certain amount of money which should be paid during semester exams.Scholarships will be provided for the students who have greater than 9 cgpa and have annual income less than 12 lakhs.Abroad scholarship should be provided for the students who have higher cgpa and no history of arrears.

U have 3 fest here namely daksh, colosseum and kurksastra where each focuses on different aspects. There are a lot of clubs here which focus on the technical and other extra curricular activites like dance , sports , music , art etc. The library herehas all kinds of books and also offers subscription for e-books of wide range collection. There are projectors in every class room to teach the subject through ppts. The university has a dedicated sport team for cricket, football, basketball for both men and women. It has multiple football grounds and a cricket ground and multiple basketball fields. Every club here is run by the students mainly with a small supervision from faculty. This makes the students to gain leadership skills and communication with other companies.

Rooms are non ac but well ventilated. In outside hostel of the college (vinaya hostel). 3 in1 2 in 1 and individual rooms are available. There are three hostel buildings (block 1,2,3). Regarding the room fee, 16k for 3 in 1 shared rooms and 25k for individual rooms. The hostel cost is highly affordable.

I didnt apply for any other colleges but sastra's admission process was straight forward. Unlike every other popluar engineering college like VIT, sastra offers seat through 2 streams. One is either by writing jee mains and a cumulative of jee and board marks will be taken into account with a weightage of 50-50. Second is through stream 2 where only board marks are needed to get admission which many colleges dont do. If u have above 90% in your boards and above 90% in jee mains im pretty sure u will get a seat either for ECE or CSE. But for other courses like EEE, aerospace, mechanical, the marks needed is quite less

Sastra has more than 1000 faculties and there are 2000 students every year. Every faculty here is very friendly and u can approach them anytime to ask any kind of doubts. A student has to attend monthly exam which comes every 28 days and u will have exams for a peroid of 4 days with 2 exams each day. Internal will be taken from the marks acquired from the monthly exams. It will be like best 2 marks out of the 3 exams for each subject

During night time no one is allowed inside the campus. But the inside hostellers are allowed to be in campus till 8:30pm. College timigs is 8:45 to 5:15(max). Hangout places are mostly canteens. All four corners there are canteens. Locality is not safe to roam at nights as the univeristy is situated in highway road.
