What Students Say
Likes
- Things I like about MUJ includes the freedom we get here. Its all on you weather you wanna make yourself or break yourself. It does teach you to be in control you you dare to learn. I mean you eventually have to.
- You can follow any passion you want to. There are many facilities here. And tons of clubs as per your liking. Getting permissions isnt that hard if you compare with other private institutes.
- The exposure is good. The university and hostel architecture is aesthetic and beautiful. It builds your confidence. Teaches you how to face things and people. Also some teachers do are supportive here who genuinely care.
Dislikes
- Like I said, the freedom. If used recklessly, you would just end up ruining your whole aim of college life.
- The friends here wont necessarily be like your school friends. There are many who come here with pre-decided notion of wasting the college days. Don't let them deviate you.
- Many of the teachers here are not upto the mark. You do need to study on your own. Placements are ok-ok while the fees is too high. Dont take any loan for coming here.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum is actually good and somewhat progressive than government colleges. This might be because they are more open to student reviews. Although the implementation through the faculty could have been better.
Internships Opportunities
Honestly not very high internship oportunities. But if you are really good and teachy, there do are hackathons arranged, and microsoft do visit for internship. But very very few students are selected in this.
Placement Experience
Many students here join with an aim of higher studies ( especially abroad ) or family business thereafter. The placement though is average of around 8-9lpa. Although the median goes about 7-8lpa. Internship opportunities are limited tbh. You mostly have to find on your own.
Fees and Financial Aid
I am studying B.Tech in CSE at MUJ. It is a four year course and the fees generally varies each year. More likely it increases every year. When I joined I pain a total fee of 388000 rupees(15000 caution deposit inclusive). With an additional 10000 during registration. But right now the fee structure is as follows- 410000(tution fee-annual)+ 10000(registration fee- one time)+ 15000(caution deposit- refundable). A total of 435000 rupees during admission and 410000 anually. There is mainly two types of scholarship actually in work here. ( I might be wrong but speaking practically as far as i have seen through mails and friends). Firstly the first three toppers get fee waviers. And secondly students who were in a range of 5000 rank in the entrance test, combining their parents financial status deciede the fee wavier they get. Also these need a cpa crieteria of 8.00 or above each semesterto maintain the scholarship.
Campus Life
The social life is really good. The clubs are diverse, and organises many events. There is one annual fest called Oneiros. It usually lasts for 3 days. Last year we had Sidharth Malhotra, Raashii Khanna, The Nalayak Band and Gajendra Verma as main artist. This year we are gonna have Amaal Malik as main artist. The Library is also quite good. The labs are well equiped too. Sports and extracurricular activities are good enough too with a rlly well equiped gym in hostels.
Hostel Facilities
The facilities in hostels are rlly good. You can opt for double sharing. It has two full beds, two pillows, two mattresses, two side tables, two cubboards, two study tables, two wadrobes and four charging ports in a room. Theres attached bathrooms with a mirror. You mostly need to get buckets, wipers etc yourself. Mess has really been improved. You get two options for mess. You can choose any one as per your liking. Price is same for both. When it comes to pricing, Room price is 1,65,000 rupees, with security deposit (one time and refundable) being 23100. Laundry is 7,950 and gym is 11,550. Mess is 73000. You can calculate the total as per what you need. Laundy and Gym is optional.
Admission
Basically, you need to pass the merit in the MET entrance test. You will be elegible to any branch depending on your MET rank. You can also apply directly through the college official website. I applied through both. Since I got CSE through direct ( they check your 12th/10th marks for branch allocation and its first come first serve), I joined through direct admission. I chose MUJ because VIT, Amity and SRM had a huge crowd. Also I liked the location of MUJ, Jaipur.
Faculty
There are various kind of faculty member here. Some are really good, some are okayish. When it comes to Btech Cse, the first year course is same for every branch is B.Tech. From second year stream study gets different branch wise. Each sem, there are two exams, Mid terms of 30 marks and End terms of 40 marks. Additionally 30 of internal marks. The gpa calculation is cumulative. Faculty to student ratio is ok ok. Some of the faculty are very supportive. Exams are mid level. It is easy to score if you study even 15 days prior. But ofc, not all students here are studious so if you fail, you need to give make-up. If you are detained ( <75% attendance or failing make up exams), you need to re attend the classes of the subject the next even/odd semester and then re apply for exams. Only then will you be able to get the respective subject credits.
Night Life
The night life is very vibrant. If you are in hostel, the main gate entry time is 9pm and the block in time is 11pm. You have very much freedom to wear anything in hostel and there are a lot of cafeteria and outlets in hostel, campus and aroud it too. The university stays open till 11pm along with its library. Academic acitivity is till 6pm though. There are many places to explore in jaipur in night. There are a ton of clubs and nighouts are good too. There are many forts and cafes to explore in late eveneings. Its rlly happening around. :>
Other Applied Colleges
Vellore Institute of Technology - [VIT] Chennai | Bachelor of Technology [B.Tech] (Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning)
Due to its crowd. It is over crowded. Also I don't trust its entrance exam counselling process. Even the college and hostel campus is way too stricter.
