Course Curriculum Overview

3

The course curriculam, i feel, is very centralised and appropriate. The difficulty level of exams is medium. The papers are designed keeping in mind the average level of all the students. Main exams are conducted twice(midsemester and endsemester exams) in 6 months. Internal exams depend on the teacher's will. If the faculty members can make the course curriculam and their teaching more practical it'd be more beneficial.

Internships Opportunities

3

The college has a dedicated Training and Placement cell that actively works to bring placament and internship oppurtunities for students. Students can find internships across various domains. Many companies visit, over 250 visited in the past year.

Placement Experience

4

The placement record of KIIT has a solid track record. Many companies visit and offer a wide range of oppurtunities. Since the 6-7th semester, the placement drive starts and the college helps in providing all the relevant information.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fees system is semester wise. For computer science, per semester we are required to pay 2,00,000 which is the tution fees and includes everything like lab fees etc. Admission fees is required one time, which is approximately 65,000. The fees for computer science branch did increase since the last academic year. Scholarship is based on the rank secured in the entrance exam of KIIT(KIITEE). Students securing rank below 1000 get a scholarship amount varying from 5000-10000 based on their semester wise performance. KIIT also has Poverty-cum-Merit scholarship for the poor and needy students. The amount and period are decided based on the need of the students. The decision of the selection committee for the selection of such candidates will be final.

Campus Life

4

The campus life is great here. There are many technical and cultural events happening every month. Even the socities are very engaging and fun. The infrastructure is great. The main event of KIIT is the KIITFEST. Even the sports facility is great. They have many sports events too.

Hostel Facilities

5

Hostel facilities are decent for the price point. Even the pgs near the college are great. Mess is obviously not the best but manageable. They provide all indian cuisines. Hostels are affordable. The room is perfect for 2 people and the things provided are apt.

Admission

KIITEE is the main entrance exam for admission in this university which is conducted in 3 phases. After the counselling round, students have to report to the college physically for rest of the process. I chose this college over others because i feel like given the fees, the facilities are better here. Considering the location, climate, fees, co curricular facilities, hostel facilities, this seemed to be a better option.

Faculty

3

In computer science, for the academic year 2024-25, the faculty to student ratio is 1:11. The faculties are decent and quite approachable. On every 2nd and 4th saturday of each month, we have a Mentor-Mentee meeting where students can freely express their concerns and complains and also suggest alternatives. The exam system is pretty much the same like other private colleges. The level of the exams are medium. Almost everyone passes with a decent grade. The course curriculam is appropriate and very centralised.

Night Life

5

The area near the college is very bright and happening. There are gyms both inside and outside the college. Hostel timings are flexible for boys and a little bit strict for the girls. The campus itself is very beautiful and has many gardens for hangouts and fun. All the facilities are available outside the college and it is very safe. KIIT square is very famous and has all the famous eating spots and malls are nearby. Bhubaneshwar has a great night life.

Placement Experience:

Placement record is not so good.. companies like Microsoft and Google have blacklisted KIIT due to poor performance and mismanagement by the KIIT in providing with the right candidates. KIIT shortlists students in basis of multiple tests taken on platforms like AMCAT and on that basics provides the profiles of best performing candidates to the companies invited for campus hirings regardless of the field and job specifications and requirements, so basically KIIT has a very below average performance Training and Placement Cell as they lack decision making and management skills to segregate candidates for hirings according to their skills and not by their general scores and CGPA. NOTE: Companies have shown least interest in KIIT for last 2 years and the poor performance of previous batches and mismanagement by KIIT authorities. KIIT promises 100% placements but that is actually far from reality.
