The blend of molecular biology and coding made this course Machine Learning, Bioinformatics Algorithms are essential for application in real time projects .Topics like genomics transcript omics structural genomics are essential for modern research.Practical training in NCBI,Uniprot and Blast.Exposure to Python,R and linux for bioinformatics work

Campus placements are good here they take mostly from CS,ECE and then Bioinformatics there is placement cell who helps us during placements throughout the process and also at the of 3-2 we have placement training program there are internship opportunities also in 3-1 and 3-2

Campus Life

We have very good campus with lush green trees to beat the summer heat in Tamilnadu and also we have many canteens,coming to clubs we have seperate clubs for technical,sports and cultural we have Kuruksastra as cultural fest, Daksh as Technical fest and colosseum as sports fest

Hostel Facilities

There is no AC availability the rooms are okay not very sophisticated but they are well maintained the washrooms are cleaned everyday coming to the food authentic tamil food mostly idly,dose and upma hostel registration done before 1 r 2weeks of classes commencement

Admission

I choose this college because it offers Btech in bioinformatics and course curriculum was good while comparing with other colleges and also the research opportunities here are very because we have 2 research hubs for school of biotechnology and also most of the professors hold Phds from abroad they have very good knowledge

Faculty

The faculty consists of highly qualified professors with many holding Phds and industrial experience .some professors are excellent mentors engaging students in discussions research and real time applications.We have 3 research centers which gives intense opportunities

Night Life

We have gym for both girls and boys ,library is there and many hostels for girls single room double share 4in1 and also attached bathroom not attached bathroom.Girls have more restrictions they should reach hostel by 6:30

Life and Difficulties at SRM University from honest POV

Placement Experience:

the placements start from third year. there are multiple oncampus companies that visited like juspay,zs associates, cognizant,accenture,capegemini and etc. the average package is aroung 5,00,000 the percentage of student is around 60-70 around this year but its still going on by this march.

The reason i choose this college because of the really good placements available in it. The different between the college i applied for and sastra will be Reputation: In my surroundings sastra have a great goodwill and Reputation compared to other colleges. Placements: sastra provide wide range of placements and opportunities while other colleges have limited options. Academic: sastra provide a great faculty , other diploma to add on which adds great value and research opportunities.
