Remarks

It's a beautiful campus to be in. Flavors of diversity, spirituality and various other courses make this place worth to be in. SSU has students from all across India and 7 other countries. The only drawback I feel is the campus is huge, thus you have to walk a lot( making you fit). Having a personal vehicle ( bike, scooty etc) is a comfort here.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

The course curriculum is aligned with the current industry needs and keeping the practical exposure as a priority. The course offers real time case studies for various subjects, live situations and industry analysis. Every subject is given a different perspective from all angles to uncover all the possibilities of it.

Internships Opportunities

Yes my college is upfront in providing the right internship to the right candidate according to his skills and abilities. We have 100% placement as well as internship records. International opportunities have also catered to SSU students. Prestigious companies like future group, Doha bank, EY, KPMG, Adani group, etc are regular recruiters.

Placement Experience

5

Placements and job opportunities are 100%. People are being placed in international companies as well other prestigious companies. Average salary is 7.25 LPA and Maximum goes up to 20LPA. Opportunities are regularly created in our campus. This year we have added more than 30 new recruiters with a minimum package of 6LPA. Companies like Kent, KPMG, EY, adani group, etc have taken students from various specializations. SSU focuses on all the important industry sectors like finance , marketing, operations , business analytics, Agri business, entrepreneurship.

College Events

4.5

SSU is proud to host ORION. The largest cultural and business festival of odissa. 5 times it has been successfully organized in SSU attracting crowd of more than 10000 and people from big industries, businessmen, artist's, entrepreneurs , DJs etc. Srinovation is the incubation centre of SSU which has been in collaboration with start up Odissa. There have been more than 15 start ups in SSU. SSU is known as the most innovative campus.

Fee Structure And Facilities

It is very feasible and affordable by any student to wish to have a blend of perfect knowledge, accommodation, food etc. SSU also provides easy education loan opportunities with banks like SBI. The fee structure for MBA is : 8,72,000 for the entire duration of 2 years including food and accommodation, extra charges. This amount is the final amount without any hidden costs. It includes everything.

Fees and Financial Aid

SSU has a tie up with SBI for loans and one more bank. I personally have taken an educational loan and it was very easy for me to take it without much Hussle. This facility is very good for people like me who believe in sponsoring their own education.

Campus Life

4.5

There are lot of sports like ( football, basketball, badminton, tennis, table tennis, cricket, etc). We have lot of activities like different clubs( marketing, finance etc). We also have gardening, plantations etc. We have osteopathy labs ( only university in the entire Asia to teach osteopathy). Architecture labs , computer labs with latest softwares.

Hostel Facilities

5

Hostel infrastructure is pretty good. There are huge rooms with attached bathroom with only 2 sharing. The rooms are very clean and hygienic and have a great vibe. The structure of the buildings and rooms are very good. There are lot of facilities like common rooms, table tennis, induction, solar panels for hot water etc

Alumni/Alumna

Our alumni are very well connected to the each batch of SSU. There is regular mentorship programs conducted and real time guidance is provided to all students by the alumni network. Alumni are the heart of SSU. They are a constant support in each endevour and problems that students face.

Exam Structure

The exam structure is very transparent. We have 60% internals ( presentations, assignments, live projects, case studies, group activities, participation, class activities, etc) and 40% externals. We have end of semester exams of 40 marks and 2 hours each.

Admission

So there are 3 rounds of admission: 1. Written examination ( testing our qualitative and quantitative abilities, English competencies, logical reasoning and data interpretation etc) 2. Group discussion ( judged by 2-3 panel members) 3. Personal interview

Faculty

4.5

The faculty is competent enough to cater to the needs of the young and rational minds studying here. They are always one step ahead in understanding the level of each student and thus giving individual attention. The focus of the faculty is to make students understand the depth of the subject rather than getting marks in the exam.

Reviewed on Jan 9, 2026(Enrolled 2023)

Course Curriculum Overview:

1. Relevance & Comprehensiveness (Rating: 7/10) The course curriculum at SOA is updated frequently compared to state government colleges. Why I chose this: I was attracted to the fact that the syllabus includes modern electives like Artificial Intelligence, Cloud Computing, and Data Analytics starting from the 3rd year itself, rather than waiting for the final semester. Real-world Prep: The curriculum is designed largely to crack placement interviews. There is a heavy focus on Aptitude and Core Coding subjects (DS/Algo) which helps in getting a job. However, for deep research or R&D roles, the theoretical depth is sometimes lacking. 2. Areas for Improvement Teaching Methods: A major issue is the reliance on PowerPoint Presentations (PPTs). Many faculty members just read off the slides. I would prefer more "Whiteboard Teaching" for mathematical and logic-based subjects. Lab Records: We spend hours handwriting practical records/files which are just copied from the manual. This is a waste of time. This time should be used for live coding projects or hackathons. Outdated Subjects: First-year students (even in CS/IT) are forced to learn heavy mechanical/civil concepts. While basics are good, the depth of these non-core subjects should be reduced. 3. Exam System & Difficulty Frequency: It is quite hectic. We have 2 semesters a year. Each semester has 2 Internal Assessments (Quizzes/Mid-sems) and 1 End-Semester Exam. Basically, you have an exam every 1.5 to 2 months. Difficulty: The exams are Easy to Moderate. It is not very difficult to pass. If you study the "Class Notes" and "Previous Year Questions" for 3-4 days before the exam, you can easily score an 8.0 SGPA. The checking is lenient for passing, but strict if you are aiming for a 9.5+ SGPA.

Gandhi Engineering College (GEC Autonomous), Bachelor of Technology [B.Tech] (Computer Science and Engineering)
Reviewed on Dec 22, 2025(Enrolled 2023)

Course Curriculum Overview:

I mainly chose this course because the college is Autonomous, which allows them to update the syllabus faster than standard university colleges; seeing subjects like Python and Data Science in the early semesters really influenced my decision. The curriculum is decent for getting placed in service-based companies like TCS or Wipro since they focus heavily on the basics and aptitude, though for high-end product roles or research, you have to put in extra effort yourself. I definitely think they need to reduce the theory load and focus more on practical coding because sometimes it feels like we are just writing assignments instead of building things. Also, the junior faculty rely too much on reading from slides, which really needs to change to make classes more engaging. As for exams, it feels like we are always writing them since we have two internals and one end-semester exam per term. They are moderately difficult and the checking is strict, so you can't slack off, but the tight schedule can get quite exhausting.
