- Very poor parking availability, impossible to find a parking after a certain time in the day
- Food challenges. Mess food is not always good for North Indian people
- Linguistics challenges with locals arise sometimes
Course Curriculum Overview
Some subjects have modern teaching methods and techniques while others don't. Every faculty has their own way of teaching a particular subject. Cybersecurity is a major need in the society now and srm is well equipped with teachers who know the subject. Real time workshops and in hand internships also help in improvement of subject learning
Internships Opportunities
Internships are provided by various companies like samsung and Gold Sachs. Adobe also provides internships. Paid internships are rare but person with good CV can get them. Internships can also lead to full time jobs.
Placement Experience
Placements are very good here. From 5th semester, students are eligible for placement. 70-100 companies visit the college. Mass recruiters like TCS and WIPRO. Dream companies also are present. Highest package is around 60lakhs. Average package is 7 lakhs 68% of the students got placed I would like to go to higher studies after the degree.
Fees and Financial Aid
Yearly fees is 400000, all included. For 4 years it is 1600000. Every two years, fees increase by 25000. Cse cybersecurity has lesser fees. Cse core has a fees of 475000 per year. Other than cse fees is less. On getting rank 1-10 in SRMJEE, 100% scholarship is provided, if you maintain 9 CGPA. Scholarships for defence background is also there.
Campus Life
2 fests are held yearly. Aaruush is a techno management fest which is held around the month of September every year. Milan is a cultural fest that takes place every april- may. Huge library with a lot of books are there. Very good sports with gyms are there in campus. More than 100 clubs and communities are present in the campus. They provide great networking opportunities
Hostel Facilities
Room has a single bed for everyone, depending on the sharing you choose. 3/4 sharing. It also has a table and a cupboard. South Indian menu and meals are good. North Indian food is scarce and not that great. Hostels are quite affordable and registration is as per rules and easy. Potheri has many pgs and apartments like the ABODE. Estancia is also there
Admission
I did not apply to any college other than this, because this has good placement opportunities. Average CTC is also pretty good. Admission process is also quite easy. SRMJEE is conducted in 3 phases. Cut offs vary from 5000-8000 for CSE
Faculty
Holistic environment provides good student to faculty relationship. Various mentors are there to guide properly. Faculty advisors usually guide for placements. Some faculties show partially to students have cgpa more than 9. Most faculties are friendly and open to any sort of help. Exams are conducted 60 marks internally and 40 externally in the final exam. 1 or 2 out of 50 students fail in any subject.
Night Life
Potheri, area around the college has a lot of gyms, bookshops, clothing stores, cafes. Good North Indian food is also available. Girls hostel timing is till 7PM Boys hostel is till 9PM Hangout places include JAVA, GUDVANCHERI, OMR FOOD STREET, MAHINDRA CITY
