- Sports culture was good , active participation in sports was appreciated. Also availablity of variety of sports helps students choose their favourite sport and play for the university at Zonal level. Considering you are good at that particular game .
- Campus life, the campus is filled with beautiful arts and fountains, which make it a great place to hangout with friends.
- Lab availablity, high quality practical labs are available in the university for each student.
Dislikes
- HOD is unsupportive and ignorant about the students.
- Some teacher are not knowledgeable to provide you with proper answers or even teach properly.
- Course is not designed for making you industry ready. You have to study on your own.
Course Curriculum Overview
Course curriculum is not well designed, despite it being autonomous there were no major changes made in the course compared to BAMU . I studied IOT as a subject 5 times through the 5 years of my degree and it didn't have much different content each time around. Course is not designed to make you industry ready , it's just make you pass and get you a graduation degree. Some of the subjects might have been helpful like PYTHON,JAVA ,ADV Python etc but if compare it to relatable to non relatable courses for industry the ration would be 1 to 6.
Fees and Financial Aid
There is no reservation or scholarship applicable for any caste or gender under MGM University, everything is based on first come first serve basis. First year :1,65,000 rs which included tuition fees , lab fees , deposit and other charges like sports , library etc 2nd year : 1,51,000 -/only tuition fees had to be paid. 3rd year : 1,51,000-/ only tuition fees had to be paid. 4th year: 1,51,000-/ only tuition fees had to be paid.
Campus Life
Technical festivals or techfest are held throughout the year by different clubs like gdsc, tedx ,ieee and many more. The library has all the course related books you cannot expect to find Harry Potter in there .lol. Lab facilities are great and available for almost every student. Extracurricular activities are held within clubs not through college. Spectacle event is held every other year. For sports MGM Olympics is held every year in December.
Admission
Honestly when is visited the college for the first time I matched the vibe with the campus , it seemed really pretty with trees and fountains and cafeteria etc. One of the major reason was also sports supporting and availablity in the college. Which is hard to find these days in other colleges. There is no merit or anything you just have to pay the fees and get enrolled, only catch is it's first come first serve basis so as early you will admit yourself into the university the more likely you are to get your desirable branch.
Faculty
Faculty to student ratio was fine when I was enrolled, but now that students capacity is increased I am not sure. When I was there it was 20:1 student to faculty ratio. Most of the faculties are supportive though they are unknowlegeable they try to help the best they can. There are some new faculties who were students i.e.our just seniors and right after graduation they joined as faculty that is not very appreciated. Some faculties just try to find problems with your project , presentation or whatever always taunting specific students like it's personal for them.
Night Life
Gym memberships are provided for students enrolled in the university. But it is highly crowded and with lesse space and equipments considering the amount of students enrolled in the university. Clover dale stadium is open to hangout or play sports from 4p.m to 7p.m. In campus cafeteria is open during college time. Sports canteen is open from 8.a.m. to 9p.m
