Course Curriculum Overview

4

My personal reason for choosing geography was due to my background of competitive exams. Most of the topics covered overall in 3 years covers major portion for competitive exams. That is the main reason why I chose this course. In terms of real world applications the topics taught in the class and the practicals we perform are very important in terms of calculating land for various purposes also certain equipments help us determine weather conditions and the changes that occur as well the reasons for those changes. As of for now I don't feel like there's one specific area or areas where change is needed the curriculum is set properly according to the needs of the respective job opportunities.

Internships Opportunities

4

The course I've opted for that is geography, provides with on job training in third year of my graduation. Atleast for the first six months the internship is without the stipend on basis of respective individual's performance they'll be taken on the job as a paid intern.

Fees and Financial Aid

I belong to OBC so because of that my fee structure for the course I'm doing i.e. BSc Geography is around 5000 rupees but for a student from general category would have to pay around 7000 rupees. Talking of scholarship college provides scholarship for girls whose parent's early income is less than 8 lakhs this includes free of cost education. Students from SC/ST too have certain benefits like less hostel fee and a certain amount off on the academic fees as well. Tuition fee, registration fee everything is included in the 5000 rupees slot and 7000 rupees slot and for SC/ST students it is around 2000 rupees

Campus Life

4

College provides with educational or departmental fests which has a different theme every year and based on the theme decorations are done. Also according to the theme different competitions are help giving an opportunity for students to showcase their talents. Apart from the educational fest the department also offers many guest lectures that help us to enhance our knowledge about our respective courses. They also carry out different workshops about various topics related to our curriculum. The cultural fest takes place once a year after all the departmental fests of all subjects are over. The cultural fest includes singing, dancing, Mr. & Mrs. SP along with a ramp walk etc. All the classrooms have projectos and WELL built laboratories. The sports department also emcourges talent and takes measures to make the students best at whatever sports they play through everyday practices. The college also provides with NCC units including the Army Unit and Navy Unit. The college also provides with a NSS programme helping students to carry out social work and help them grow as an individual

Hostel Facilities

3

One room is provided for two students the room is big enough to accommodate two people. The architecture of the hostels is inspired by the Wada system famous in Pune . Every room has a balcony with quite a stunning view of the college campus. The rector of girl's hostel is quite strict which is for their own good. The curfew for girls is 7'o clock while that for the boys is 9'o clock. Meal quality is quite average it's edible to say the least. The PGs near college are as expensive as the hostel annual fees but with hostel you just get more sense of security and less freedom. But if you're willing to compromise a little on security you'll get all the freedom you want

Admission

I applied To Fergusson College and I also got in but the only reason I didn't opt for Fergusson College was as they didn't provide B.Sc. in geography instead they provided Geology. And the other option waa B.A. in geography which again was not my choice as I completed high school with a science background. The eligibility criteria for getting into Sir Parahurambhau college was totally based on the cutoff of 12th percentage.

Faculty

4

Teaching staff overall of my department is quite good. Their teaching techniques are quite interesting it actually makes you pay attention in class. Since my degree is more depending on the outdoor practicals we are being taught all about how to handle the equipments in a very polite way. The teachers actually trust us with the equipments and giving us a sense of responsibility. It's hard to pick favourites since all of them are great at what they do. There are 4 exams in a year 1 internal exam and external exam for each semester same pattern of internal and external exam goes for practicals as well. The difficulty levels are not that high if you actually attend the lectures and pay attention. Mostly the students who skip college on regular basis fail most of the times

Night Life

4

The night life of around college is quite fascinating as the college closes around 4'o clock. There are quite a few hangout spots around college like S.P. katta on a little distance there is F.C road with number of things to do. Consisting of book cafes, Irani cafe, goodluck cafe with good food and a nice cup of tea to wash away the tired day. The college itself provides with a gym that is included in the fee structure but only students who live nearby can take its advantage.Pune is almost awake till 2 in the morning and is very safe for both girls and boys with Police patroling at every square.

Placement Experience:

After taking admission in the college, the placement drive is started for the student immediately from the second semester. All the information about which is sent to the class wise group and if the student is eligible, you can apply immediately after seeing your experience. The experience is very beautiful. You learn new things. You also understand how the interview round is conducted and what the eligibility is. Most of the companies that come to the college include renowned companies like Microsoft, Infosys, TCS, Deollite, etc., which hire students. The biggest package of Rs 7 crore per NM has been given so far from Sandeep University in the entire Nashik district.Which is a matter of great pride. Sandeep University is the only college where the largest job fair seminar in Maharashtra is attended. In which students from all over Maharashtra come and give live interviews to companies that have come to the college, give their region and announce hiring on the spot. Therefore, this college provides the greatest opportunity for students to meet all the renowned companies under one roof in one place. During the interview, the student's critical thinking skills and his/her inclination are shown rather than CGP and marks to determine whether he/she is eligible or not. In my experience, the college provides such strong education that at least four students are placed in companies every week. I am currently completing my graduation and will be starting my career immediately after that.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I have been thoroughly impressed with the course curriculum for its relevance and comprehensive approach to both theory and practice. One major aspect that influenced my decision to choose this course was its emphasis on practical application and real-world problem solving. The curriculum integrates current industry trends and case studies, which immediately appealed to me because it offers not only theoretical knowledge but also valuable hands-on experiences. The structure of the curriculum prepares students well for real-world applications and further academic pursuits. For instance, the course modules are designed to build a strong foundational understanding while progressively introducing complex topics. This approach ensures that students are capable of tackling challenging scenarios in professional settings and are well-prepared for advanced research or academic opportunities. The practical assignments, group projects, and internships provide direct exposure to industry practices and enable us to apply what we learn in a realistic context. Despite these strengths, there is always room for improvement. The course curriculum could further benefit from increased interactive teaching methods, such as more frequent workshops and peer-to-peer learning sessions. Incorporating regular seminars by industry experts would also add practical insights. Additionally, the frequency and timing of exams sometimes feel overwhelming. Although the exam difficulty level is fair and encourages a deep understanding of the material, scheduling them away from major project deadlines could alleviate some unnecessary stress. Overall, I find the curriculum to be robust and well-rounded. With a few adjustments in teaching methods and assessment schedules, it has the potential to become even more effective in preparing students for both professional challenges and advanced academic endeavors. In summary, the course curriculum excels in providing a balanced educational.

The first few hours of the computer science course are very difficult. You have to understand everything. It is beneficial if you solve the programs in it repeatedly. When a teacher explains something clearly, it will be easier for the student to understand, and it will be easier if the exam is taken at least 4 times a year.
