What Students Say?
Likes
- The thing that I really liked about this college is that they do not compromise in tha amount of time we need to study.
- There is no discrimination between boys and girls
Dislikes
- They do not provide much assistance during placements unlike other college that make sure their students solve problems on coding platforms etc..
- Sometimes there is a lot of favouritism shown by the lecturers.
Course Curriculum Overview
I personally feel that the current curriculum is not up to the expectations from the outer world. The curriculum followed currently quite outdated and not up to the mark. It does not include the newly emerging subjects. Including the currently emerging subjects can help students have a strong foundation and can help them in getting the job of their choice
Internships Opportunities
The students get the opportunity to start applying for internships from the beginning of the 3rd year itself. The companies the come for internships for 3rd year students include Goldman Sachs, Providence, Barclays, etc.. also there are some other companies that come looking for students from the 4th year. Also JPMC offers internship to the students who performed really well in their hackathon with they conduct for 2nd year students.
Placement Experience
In outlr college students become eligible for internship from the 3rd year itself whereas it is generally 4th year for placements. A lot of companies visit each year and according to what I heard almost 100% placement was achieved for the seniors of my branch which gave me quite a boost. But also there are not many companies coming this year which also scares me a bit
Fees and Financial Aid
Actually as I had made use of EWS I did not have to pay any fees. I was completely exempted. However, the fee for each year was previously 1,20,000 but it was increased this year and it is currently 1,45,000.
Campus Life
The technical fest is called sudhee and the cultural fest is called Shruti. They are generally held in the month of February every year. They are held for a full fledged 5 days. The library offers a large number of books for all the branches. There is also a wide range of sports offered. There are also a large number of clubs currently operating in the college.
Admission
I applied for JNTU, CBIT and Vasavi mainly. In the first round of councelling i got ECE at OU but I heard that it was not quite good. So for the next rounds I mainly focused on the college's mentioned above. And I finally made it into CSM at CBIT. I was personally quite satisfied with that and quite happy. But sometimes I do regret not being able to get into JNTU.
Faculty
There is generally a good relationship between the students and lecturers except for few cases. We generally have 2 mid exams both for theory and practical. From a total of 100 marks, 40 marks are internal and the semester paper will be only for 60 marks for theory exams. The breakdown of the 40 internal marks is like 20 marks which is the average of both the mid exams, 10 marks for assignments, 5 marks for sliptests and 5 marks for attendance. When it comes to lab, the external is only for 50 marks and the internal if for another 50 marks. I don't quite remember the breakdown.
Night Life
The area around our college is not quite ideal for spending time at night as it does not have many places to have fun around. However the nightlife would be great in areas a bit farther from the college. I am a day scholar so I don't quite know about the hostel timings.
