Course Curriculum Overview

3

The course curriculum is very vast and interesting. They teach concepts of OOPS, DSA , Database programming etc. which have vast applications in the real world. I have interest in Computerised systems and Database development , so i chose the course BTech CSE Core. But in the first year even the specialisation courses have the same sylabbus as us. Concepts of Operating Systems and Cryptography, encryption and decryption techniques have many job oppotunities and a major demand in the market as of now. One thing they can improve in the course curriculum is they can keep coding classes for the students as not every student in BTech has a coding background. For some people , coding might seem easy and fun but its not the same for everyone.

Internships Opportunities

4

Companies like Intel, Dell, TCS and Shell come to the college every year to conduct interviews. They offer internships as well. The stipend can go from unpaid to 40000 per month. The jobs usually offered will be those of manager positions.

Placement Experience

4

The placement rate of MUJ is not so great. That's why most people start to seek jobs by themselves.Students can opt for placements after 3rd year. Companies like Intel, Dell and TCS come to the campus to offer packages to the students. Last year's highest package was around 8500000 offered by amazon. Before that it was 1cr package by Intel. Average package of campus placement goes to around 800000. To secure a high package, it is recommended for the students to have a cgpa above 8.5.

Fees and Financial Aid

The yearly fees for MUJ is 383000 for the course Btech CSE Core. Other specialisation courses like AIML, DS, IOT ,IT also have the same course fees. The fees is increased every year by a bit. The new batch fees is more than what we had to pay.

Campus Life

5

The college hosts a fest every February which goes by the name Oneiros, where big singers and celebs come to promote their movie or give the students a live performance. It is always an amazing experience. The college also has a library, which has every single variety of book, such as for course prep or prep for competitive exams, or books for leisure reading etc. The classrooms in the college are very neat and tidy and can accompany upto 70 students. There is a projector in every class which makes it easy for the teacher to teach such a big class with the help of presentation. The college also offers many sports , both indoor and outdoor. They also host competitions against other colleges from Delhi, Pubjab etc. The college also has multiple clubs such as IEEE, ACM, Randomize, Ignite, etc where students can take part as volunteers or in the working team which is really helpful for your portfolio.

Hostel Facilities

4

The hostels are quite nice, there are 3 types of rooms, single occupancy, double occupancy, and triply occupancy. There are also premium options available such as ac room with fridge and sofa , but the cost is too much. In the room there is obviously a bed provided, other than that each roommate has a table and a cupboard. There is an inbuilt washroom in the room. The room also has a centralised ac system which on winters is used to supply hot air to the rooms and works as a heater. The hostel registration process is very easy and can be done online. Double and Triple Occupancy is affordable but the premium rooms like single occupancy and tv rooms are very expensive and can cost more than the course does.

Admission

I gave the entrance exam of many colleges like MIT, VIT, MS Ramiah , Thapar. I also gave CET and ComedK for colleges in south india. I got a confirmed admission from VIT and another college BMS in Bangalore. But i chose Manipal University of Jaipur as i really liked the course curriculum and some people i knew were already in the college and told me great things about it. I couldnt clear JEE so govt. colleges were out of the question. As for other private institutions , I didnt perform well in the entrance exam so i couldnt secure a good course in the colleges. For MIT and MUJ there is a common entrance exam. Based on your test score, you will be given a rank. According to the cutoff you can see if you are getting the course in the college you want. As I was getting CSE Core in MUJ so i decided to take it.

Faculty

3

The faculty to student ratio is quite low. During examination times there is always a shortage of faculty to invigilate the examinations. The majority faculties do seem approachable but even if you ask them a small question they get annoyed and keep blaming the students. However, there are a few faculty members i do like such as Mr. Atul Kumar Verma, who is very approachable and helpful teacher. He is also very kind to us students. Whereas talking about faculty i don't like, i have a whole list but i'll just say one name, Mrs. Shikha. On the first day, she did seem very kind and approachable , but even she couldnt hide her true colours for long enough. She blames the students for every tiny mistake, even her personal life problems. She treats the job like a regular 9-5 and doesnt at all interact with the students. In the college there are 2 examinations, the Midsems and the Endsems. The midsems are of 30 marks and endsems of 80 marks.Passing marks for midsem is 14 while passing for endsem is 28. While majority of students can clear the exams in one go, some students do require a second chance(make-up) exam to clear the course exam.

Night Life

4

The nightlife in and around the college campus is very nice. There are many hangout places in the campus like mess and admin building. At night , people generally go on walks usually outside the mess or in the joggers park. After classes, students usually unwind by playing a game of pool or table tennis in the games room. The hostel and campus in and out timings is from 6 am to 9 pm. The locality outside the campus is also very nice. The people are very friendly and approachable. Street vendors are usually open full night and the view is also very scenic.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is vast and allows a student to explore all the possible options to take before deciding on one . The field of elctronics and communication engineering allows one to deal with electronics and learn all the possible tinkering with them which is a very fascinating part as all the gadgets possible today were made of them. The curriculum does satisfy this thirst by teaching about them in the class of electronics and electricals and then experimenting in the lab with them . The areas for improvement could be that if a student is interested in a specific field then should be allowed to venture that field throughly instead of sitting in every class , but that is an imrovement for the indian education system as as whole . The classes of every subject does occur frequently and and exams take place every month in a form of quiz or proper pen based exams.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I choose this course because I like computer science and I can see my future in this course. The current ratio in computer science courses is around 1:5. And we don't have technical communication teaching at present and the college is saying that they will recruit teachers as soon as possible. The student-teacher ratio in all the branches is around 1:3. All facilities are well qualified and teach well but they are not permanent and hence they may or may not be changed next year. There are two semesters in each year and an examination is conducted after each semester. The difficulty level of these exams ranges from moderate to difficult.
