What Students Say
Likes
- The University have a really nice infrastructure which is necessary for all the students
- Every week, there used to be a seminar or a conference based on different concerning and knowledgeable topics
- Every year, University organised fest for the freshers and a mega fest at the end of the year
Dislikes
- Teaching methods of the majority of faculties were poor except few
- Enormous number of assignments, group projects, presentations and many more. Faculties used to create pressure on the students regarding such things
- There was no flexibility regarding the attendance. At some point, faculties must consider about the attendance
Course Curriculum Overview
The curriculum gives us a knowledge about the principles, theories etc. but they were not so relevant as compared to the real-world applications except their internships. The course curriculum should be consistent every year because students find it difficult to pass the exam. According to the difficulty level and frequency the exam timings were good.
Internships Opportunities
At the end of 2nd and 3rd Year University used to provide us the internship opportunity which was the best part as well as hectic. The University used to send applications to different companies in the state for internships. As it used to be a free internship so we didn't used to get any stipends.
Fees and Financial Aid
As per the details shared by the university i.e. as mentioned in their brochure, per semester fees was Rs. 25,000/- and B.Com is a 3 year course so per year Rs 50,000/- Admission fees was Rs. 20,000 followed by Rs. 10,000 of caution deposit. My batchmates those who were persuing BBA from this university were at first charged Rs. 28,000/- then Rs. 30,000 and then Rs. 32,000 per semester respectively. The fee structure is gradually increasing.
Campus Life
Novatos was the fest of welcoming the Freshers. In the middle of the year it was organised in which freshers can take part in ample of activities. And ICARIA was the biggest fest of north-east which was organised by the university at the end of the year. The facilities, the infrastructure is very good for all the students. They were provided with some really good books and journals from renowned publishers and the university itself publishes many books and journals which were really knowledgeable for the students. There is an SAC i.e Student Activity Council which was managed by the President duly appointed by the management committee of the university which used to look after the different problems faced by the students, managing the healthy environment of the campus etc.
Admission
I didn't apply in any other colleges and in the first place I got a confimed admission in this university. When I applied in this university, I used to know that this is a very good University. I didn't get any rejections from other colleges because I didn't apply in any other college except this.
Faculty
Honestly, the faculties were approachable but few of them literally made fun of the students for approaching them. They used to be demotivated and demoralised every time they approach the faculties. In a year there used to be 4 exams, 1st internal then Mid-term followed by the 2nd Internal and atlast Final- term. The curriculum used to change every year which students found really difficult to cope up with.
Interview Experience
I didn't have to face any interview or group discussion because my admission was confirmed on merit. I secured 85.8% in 12th so the management of the university confirmed my admission based on my merit. Whoever wanted to take admission in this university they used to contact the city office as the university was located in the outskirts of the city
Night Life
There were different hangout spots in the university but my personal favourite was the open gym which was located at the park behind the campus. There were food hubs inside the campus and multiple shops outside the campus which was very popular among the students. The hostellers have to report to the warden within 7pm as there were very strict rules.
