SVCET - Student's perspective

The curriculum is designed by SBTET AP (State Board of Technical Education and Training A.P). When i was studying our regulation was C-16. The curriculum doesn't fully prepares us for real-world applications as it contains old technologies etc which are not up to date. Also foer now the board has updated the curriculum regulation to C-23 but still i think it doesn't meet the real world requirements. The difficulty level of exams is moderate and fits for all type of students.

Students are eligible to placements from 3rd year. During our batch companies like Hyundai mobis, Amaron and Kia visited the campus and offers made are around 45% of the students. Highest package was 3 LPA by Amaron for the role of Jr. Engineer and average package was 2LPA for some entry level roles. The overall percentage of students placed is around 55%. I have planned to do graduation after this diploma.

Overall Fees: 30,000/year. College fees: 25000/year. Admission fee: 1000 (One time fees). Development fees: 5000/year. For convener quota who joined through APPOLYCET, government provide fees reimbursement of 20,000 and we have to pay 5000 every year.

They will be conducting 3 day fest named selesta every year for which actors are invited as guests. And events like annual day, farewell and graduation day are conducted every year. Events will be held for almost all festivals. There are wide range of books and journals available in the central library. All the classroms are equipped with projectors. Sports will be held and clean courts are available for basketball, badminton and cricket. Extracurricular activites are also held but not very frequent. There are no student-run clubs available during our batch.

I have stayed in college hostel and my overall experience is good except water facility. They will release water to bathroom taps only for 2hrs in the morning and in the evening as there is water scarcity. Food quality and menu is good. Registration process for hostel is also very simple, and it is considerd as affordable during our batch and i don't know present fee structure.

I got seat in the counselling as i applied to this college. I choose this college over others as this is an autonomuos institution. And also the labs are good. Admission process is also simple. I have qualified APPOLYCET exam and opted this college in counselling. Eligibility for the test is 10th std. admission process is also simple, we have to submit our cetificates and allotment order at the in the prescribed time.

Faculty-to-student ratio is good. Most of the faculty are student friendly. When i was studying, faculty members Mr. M.Mohan Raj and Mr. Mohammad basha were best teachers as they are well experienced and student friendly. Faculty members Mr.G.Naresh and Mr.Praveen were just teaching textbook content without any subject knowledge. There will be 2 mid terms and one semester end theory cum practical examinations for every semester.

Gym facility is available in college hostel. All eateries and restaurants are available nearby but not that good. They will be available upto 10:00 pm daily. Hostel gates will be closed after 8:00pm. Famous hangout place inside the campus is cafeteria and outside there are restaurants like cafe garage and tabun which are popular. The locality is safe to roam around at night.
