KIIT honest Review

Well like any other I kept CSE branch on my top most priority. I think the faculties were good and were able to teach me enough so that I could polish it on my own. This is what you will have to do as well. You will have work on yourself. A teacher will only guide you . For real world , only 1st year students won't find anything useful cuz they teache you chemistry and physics too (lol). But for the rest of years , there will be something useful. Well in every 1.5-2 month you gonna have exam and I know it's pretty much hectic but it is what it is.

By end of 2nd year you will have to start looking for internships . College will help you to a certain extent but you will have to put max efforts. TCS is a common student hirer as interns . Stipend is b/w 2-15k if I m not wrong.

You can get ppo from 5-6 sem and internships too. for companies yea there are many companies who visit here you will have to look at that on the college page ( I don't remember all lol). Highest package I guess was 50+ . 97% students gets places according to their census. I haven't planned much after getting my degree. I m still exploring.

My semester fees including my hostel and mess fees is around 2.78 lac so for the year it is around 3.56 lac . In this my hostel fees is 1.2 lac / year and mess fees is 50k/year. Your hostel fees depends on the type of hostel you take . Non premium-Non AC(3 bed-2 bed ), Non premium - AC (3 bed - 2 bed) , Premium (is always AC 3 bed - 2 bed ) . The price for me goes from 28k -70k. I m currently premium 3 bedded which has fees of 60k / semester . Only premium hostel rooms have personal toilet , rest all have common. And yes the fees for hostel increases every year. My juniors are paying 70k for 3 bedded premium and 80k for 2 bedded. You can get 10k scholarship if you score good and comes under 1000 rank. Min was >1000 so I couldn't ofc. If you need any other financial help , contact to college helpline. And yes your rank will decide what Branch you will get . Try getting above 80 percentile in first two Phases and 90+ in third.

My experience I will rate 4/5 . I found many good friends, teachers and other locals. If we talk about fests, they generally happen in mid of Feb. And other tech fest just keep on happening you can join any. We got a central library where you can find whatever subject book you wish to read and you can issue as well. For this you gotta read some guidelines I cant mention all here . KIIT is known for its sports facilities. You can just it everywhere here hehe. We got socities here and you can join based on your interests. You will have to give audition to get into any Society.

There are 6 types of rooms and hostels . 1) Non premium Non AC hostels : Room has no AC , No personal bathroom /toilet . Comes in 3 bedded and 2 bedded. 2) Non premium AC hostels : Room has AC but not bathroom/toilet . Again comes in 3-2 bedded. 3) Premium hostels - has both AC and attached bathroom and toilet . 3 and 2 bedded. All non premium hostels have common bathrooms and toilets. You will be having window and study table and a wardrobe . For the type of hostel you want you will be having to choose the hostel type , 1st come 1st get. You can change hostel type at th end of the semester by giving an application. For PGs tho I will recommend you to get in hostel so u will be able to feel true college life. But in case u don't want any restriction u can rent rooms but ofc they come with certain drawbacks.

I had applied to Some colleges in Pune and vit ofc . Out of which I got confirmed admission in SIT pune and VIT (all cities) . I chose this college because it was standing best out of other . (Yes this college competes with VIT vellore on a really good scale). Student intake isnt as much as VIT and yeah it is atleast better than SIT . For admission process you will have to give Kiiteee test which happens in 3-4 phases ( Try to crack it in first 2. ). Then you will get your score and branch accordingly. Cutoffs are quite hard to tell but you can surely get CSE if you score >=85 percentile (mine was 85).

Faculty to student ratio in first year is 1:40 coz you get 2 mentors in first year. Rest all subject faculties are like ofc 1:80 cuz only one teacher teaches you all at a time. I wouldn't take the names of faculties I didn't like you will have to figure it out on your own. 1 year exams are relatively easy and you will be able to score good if you study .

No I didnt face any group discussion or interview . There was just entrance test name KIITEEE. Which is held in 3-4 phases. I will consider clearing it in first 2. If you are preparing for JEE the syllabus is same.

Every campus has it own Cafeteria and most of them have own gyms . Most of hostel have their timing which for 1st year is around 6.30 for both boys and girls . From second year it becomes 7:30 for boys and 7 for girls. (It can be extended acc. To your hostel's warden ;) ). You can find various famous places around to go with you friends and family.
