Course Curriculum Overview

3

The curriculum is not the best out there , there some very important topics atleast in physics which is not included and the circulum keeps changing we had a tough time as the circulum changed during our batch and we missed out on some papers like astrophysics which some students find interesting and useful for the real world, exams are apt moderately difficulty

Internships Opportunities

5

Mostly intership are available only if the student is interested and approaches the teachers but all information a out internships available is informed to students in much detail , I obtained an intership at an edtech company called young innovators in the field of astronomy and intership on telescope building and night sky observation

Fees and Financial Aid

The fees remained same for all 3 years Admission fee-1880 Lab fee-520 General breakage -75 Other fees including sports, cultural, medical, internet, library etc-3734 Tution-38150 Scholarships like ssp for sc/st and other underprivileged students and also scholarships for girls

Campus Life

5

Almost all festivals and important days like kannada rajostava and other events are celebrated including Hindi diwas and other important days related to any department apart from that every year there's a freshers day called nutana and an annual day or inter college fest called anubhav which is a very fun event in college with a lot of cultural events and competition, then every year we have a annual sports day held at a nearby ground where almost all sport mostly athletic is played then there are separate events for team games and we have a separate events for indoor games like chess, carom and table tennis, there is also a very active nss and ncc unit which run events very regularly and also a lot of clubs like science club commerce club astronomy club quiz club debate and electoral club,a very good 3 floor library with study spaces in each floor along with computers

Admission

Usually people apply to mes because it's quite a famous college in banglore the college is around 100 + years old and has been that disciplined and we'll mainted colleges even though this wasn't my first choice but for bsc physics apart from some private college which are quite expensive mes is a good option but improvement is required in both circulum and teaching methods, usually the admission process is very simple is mes they just verify your 12th marks nothing other than that

Faculty

3

Each class usually has around 25-30 students and each subject has atleast 3 teachers hence teachers are very approachable we had a very helpful computer science department who helped us a lot with our projects Exams each sem has 2 main exams 1 mid sem (papers prepared by college)and end sem paper prepared by bcu they moderately difficulty exams, and between these main exams we had assements in the form of assignments or projects

Night Life

5

The college is in a very standard area almost in the heart of the city a lot of famous restaurants like ctr,Sai Ram chats etc, good malls like mantri mall and Orion malls very close to college ,there is no hostel provided by the college but there are a few pgs near by

Now the syllabus has changed. New emerging technologies trends and subjects are introduced in new curriculum. Data science, Artificial Intelligence and Cyber Security are now taught. Practical marks are reduced to 50 marks. Term end examinations are conducted twice in a year. Exams are not that difficult. Usually previous year questions appear in the exams.

At St Aloysius University, students typically become eligible for campus placements from the 5th semester onward. Reputed companies like Infosys, wipro, TCS etc have visited the campus offering multiple roles in IT services, research and analytics. The highest package has been around 7-8 LPA while the average has been around 3-4 LPA depending on the company and the profile of the student. Around 60-70% of eligible students secure placement each year

REVA University, Bachelor of Science [B.Sc] (Biotechnology)
Reviewed on Jul 4, 2025(Enrolled 2023)

Course Curriculum Overview:

I would rate it around 8/10 for relevance and comprehensiveness. I chose this course because it offered solid foundational subjects that aligned with my interests. The curriculum prepares students well for higher studies and provides decent exposure to lab techniques. However, for real world readiness, it could be improved. Teaching methods are mostly theory-heavy and would benefit from interactive approaches. Exams are moderately difficult and conceptual clarity and regular revision helps in scoring well.

Reviewed on Jun 20, 2025(Enrolled 2024)

Placement Experience:

First of all, there isn't a passed out batch yet(as of 2025). The first batch enrolled in 2023 and they are currently in internship period as they've planned. Placement will be offered at the end of 4th year. Although for internships, around 50+ companies visited and 96% of students got internships. The average stipend was 30,000 INR and the highest stipend was 200,000 INR (non-domestic). My plans after getting the degree are to gain some experience and go for a masters in business if possible.

Remarks:

Positive remarks: • The senior, junior, classmates are very helpful and cooperative. • The professors are also very helpful and concerned about our studies. Negative remarks: The authority is not so helpful. They take many steps against the students' sake and this is the main cause for decreasing the college's overall performance.
