Course Curriculum Overview

5

The course curriculum is wide-ranged and from a pool of relevant subjects and topics which are in use today in many career fields. However the frequency and number of exams can be tweaked a bit to give the students a period of time to concentrate on themselves.

Internships Opportunities

5

In case of academic courses like mine (Msc) the internships and PhD opportunities are ample. Students can intern under the professors present in the campus itself in the laboratories that they've worked in before. The faculty keeps the students updated on various other educational facilities both in-country and abroad which helps the students choose from a wide array of opportunities.

Placement Experience

3

For my course there were not much scope for campus placements, unlike in the case of engineering students where there are ample placement opportunities. For MSc students priority is given towards PhD and other project scientist roles. Teaching is also an alternative. A few minor placement opportunities were there for tech firms like TCS

Fees and Financial Aid

Tuition and library fees combined : ?45000 (first year) Tuition and library fees combined : ?40000 (second year) Exam fees per semester : around ?1500 Hostel : didn't avail Transport by college : didn't avail Hostel mess : didn't avail

Campus Life

4

Many social and talent-based clubs are present in every field. Annual festivals are held with great enthusiasm and various celebrities are called. Students get a chance to portray their talents as well. The lab facilities, sports equipment presence, curricular activities reachability are up to the mark. Student portals are convenient and helpful to guide students towards their field of interest

Admission

Merit-based admission (not the same for engineering) which made it easy for me to get into the university. I had applied to this university and got into it so I didn't look at the other universities for a chance. However before getting into it I tried in MSU, Vadodara and Cotton University, Guwahati where I was in waiting list and couldn't get into them just for one or two seats

Faculty

4

Faculty consists of professors from a wide array of subjects and expertise which is why students have a wide option to choose from for their project of interest. Supportive staff keen on helping students. Fees are nominal for examination. Internal exams : 50 marks External exam : 50 marks There are three internal exams and one final exam Students mostly pass and get promoted. Very very less failure numbers

Night Life

4

The nightlife is somewhat average. With the canteens and libraries open till 10 pm the students can be seen roaming around and socialising with their peers and spending quality time. However the differences in the hostel closing times for boys and girls are separate which makes the experience somewhat diminished for the female students as their hostels close early this affecting their nightlife. Other than that the campus nightlife is fine

Actually I am currently in seconnd semester right now, I am not sure about the eligiblity criteria for campus placements. But I gathered some informations about the placement process with the help of students who completed their degree here recently. Most of the students having skills in demand based on the company requirements will get selected. Companies with good reputation will visit during campus placements. My aim was to getting placed in a company with good reputation and descent salary package.
