As good as it gets

There are many positives in terms of the facilities catered to the students and the opportunities provided. The negatives can sometimes be the faculty which can be harsh sometimes. Also the campus is really far from the city and no domino's nearby. :(

I believe the curriculum is more based on theory rather practical and doesn't get students to actively do projects on the studied topics on their own. The exam structure is as follows : 2 class tests for 40 marks and a final exam worth 50. Then an assignment for 10 marks. Though the above may vary with the facalty.

The placement opportunities are really good here, being the top nit and good set of companies with good packages come here, which are open to all after passing their online tests. Yes college does provide internship opportunities where we are trained about the process and have set of mock interviews which we are required to Clear in oder to sit for the intern opportunities. The stipend varies from 10k to 40k.

There are loads of events celebrated in our college from tech fests to cultural fests and then we have sports fest and other festivals are celebrated too with good amount of cash invested in decoration and food stalls.

It is feasible being a govt college and provides scholarship programmes too. The fees is higher for Dasa kids but is lower for st/sc kids. There are scholarship programmes specifically for kids with lower income families too.

There is jiteshraj scholarship programme. Then there are various other programmes offered by Alumnis and central government. For loan there is only the facility of student loan offered by the sbi bank.

They are all fine but time consuming and require lot of commitment. Their is a good infrastructure set up to avail the service in their full form. And college also provides opportunities to excel more in them.

Hostels are way better compared to other nit's. They all include cleaners who clean toilets everyday in the morning. Then there are two water colliers on each floor of a hostel. Electricity is present all the time but internet is available only till 1.

The Alumni network is really strong, NIT Trichy being an old institute and has am association even in the US. The senior students are really helpful here and are the ones who actually prepare us for internships and take our mock interviews.

Admission in my college is through JEE MAINS, based on your marks out of 360, you get a college based on the cutoff list. Each NIT and a department in that college has a cutoff list wherein a candidate can get admission only on the basis of the their all india rank which is decided based on their marks.
