Course Curriculum Overview
You will be learning both modern medical science as well as ancient which is a unique concept in dealing with the patients and also some extra knowledge to eradicate many such health problems which cannot be cured in mbbs. The curriculum focusses on mainly theoretical knowledge till your final year and you will have your field and practical knowlegde gained mainly from your final year as will have to practice in outside hospitals and also during your internship.
Internships Opportunities
Internship happens in the college hospital itself with a good stipend of rs. 27000 which is greater than any mbbs or other medical college and it is of 1 year with only 7 hour duty if it is your day duty in internship and 12 hour dury if it is your night shift.
Fees and Financial Aid
One of the most commendable aspects of this college is its free structure. With a yearly Tution fee of just 3000rs. And an additional hostel fee of just 500rs. It is remarkably affordable compared to many other institutions in the country. This low fee structure allows students from various economic backgrounds to pursue their education in Ayurveda and Unani medicine with the burden of crippling debt. The cost effectiveness of this college makes it an attractive option for aspiring practitioners of traditional medicine who are passionate about their field but may lack financial resources.
Campus Life
In annual and technical feativals nothing much is celebrated here except ajmal khan day and ayurveda and unani day. These are the only festivals celebrated in this college and that too not on that mass level. Books are available in the livrary but they are not that new and in old and torn off conditions. Extracurricular activities can be seen but only if rhe students arrange it themself and mainly the college team itself plays along and no outside team is allowed to entered. There are no student run groups or clubs in the college
Hostel Facilities
The hostel room provides you free electricity and a bed with cupboards and you will have to arrange every other thing yourself. Meal quality as compared to other hostels is quite decent. Registration process to have hostel is quite simple as you only have to submit an application to the hostel warden with genuine reasons and he verifies hostel for the students
Admission
As i got not that good marks in neet examination so i got no other iption than to take admission in this college itself as the competition during 2021 was not that much but now it has partially increased. I got rejected from other mbbs colleges due to less percentile in neet and i was happy with bums course as it teaches you both modern way and ancient way to deal with health problems.
Faculty
The faculty to student ratio must be 64:400 which is not that bad and also the faculty is quite approachable except some faculty members which can be quite strict. The principal zubair sir can be very friendly and also has his unique way of teaching anatomy. Physiology department is the best and helpful department among all. The teacher you will hate the most will be shabbir sir in unani and kd sir in ayurveda. They get way too personal in your college life. The exams are not difficult if your preparation is good and the system has changed recently so you will be having your exams every 6 months and after every 1.5 year it will be your final university exam. And the whole course is of 5 years with one year of internahip included
Night Life
There is no gym cafeteria in the college but can be seen nearby. Outside life is open till 10pm and starts at approx 9pm and can be very entertaining. Gaffar market of karol bagh is quite nearby to buy goods and roam yourself during the day as well as night. Hostel has no timings and you can enter whenever you wish to and there not many regulations followed that makes your hostel life great. Famous places to hangout includes chaiwala and many cafes outside the college area for hanging out with your friends or going on dates.
Other Applied Colleges
