ALL ABOUT NIFT SRINAGAR

In fashion design course curriculum there are different subjects which helps in overall development of students.the list of subjects are: *Pattern making *Garment construction *Fashion design and representation *Fabric fundamental *Costume, textile and fashion europe and egypt *Fashion society and culture *Introduction to fashion photography *Draping *Introduction to space design These all subjects are perfect for any fashion design student some more subjects were included in different semesters like fashion styling and houte couture etc.juries were held every semester where we have to present our work in front of jury pannel and explain our whole concept to them . Mid terms and endterms were also taken by the faculties whose marks were added in our cms profile . Mostly exams were held in June and December.

Companies: Amazon,ajio,myntra, Benetton, blackberrys,first cry,GAP, h&m,Calvin Klein Tata CLiQ.moatly students are placed in design and marketing field . One of our campus student got internship under tarun tehliani and some got under Ritu Kumar .

70%of students get college placement.the average package is 8 lakh per annum and then increases according to the work of student. Companies visited for placement:e- commerce company ajio,myntra,amazon, first cry and fashion brand: Addidas,h&m, GAP, BLACKBERRYS. After getting my degree I thought for working under any designer for few years after that I'll start my own business.

The fee structure change every year. Basically in my 1st year I paid 183220.00 in per semester so according to it 1st year fee was 3,66,440 then it reduced to some amount in next semester the last payment I have done was 1,69,800 per semester which include library fee(10000), student development fee(4900), exam fee (4900), tuition fee(150000) .There are scholarships also like sarthak which I probably know for the students whose parents income is up to rs.2 lakh will get 100%of tution fee , up to 4 lakhs get 75%, up to 6lakhs get 50% of tution fee.

The overall experience of nift is quite good like they celebrate each and every festival of India which feels like home in another state we come to know about more cultural values and different types of cultures in our country.there is a proper library in campus here you can find anykind of book related to fashiona and history .the classrooms very quite big and having projecters also . There were different types of clubs in college like sports club , cultural club,dance club, environment club etc .

The hostel room are very beautiful having big windows in there so you can see the mountain views very clearly.there are ventilated heaters and ac facilities. Tables and almirah and beds all are available .there are triple sharing ,twin sharing and single rooms available . The quality of food was not good .the hostel is quite affordable the hostel fee was 45000 for triple sharing,52000 for twin sharing and 60000 for single room

Nift was my first preference for fashion design although I also filled form for other colleges also like the pearl and the design village but these werey backup plans in case I didn't get admission in nift.fortunately I got admission here so I didn't opt any other college.There are 3 stages of exams in nift the 1st stage is GAT exam which is your general ability test where you have to give written exam it includes maths questions, reasoning questions, general knowledge questions,english comprehensive paragraph etc . Then comes the 2nd exam that is CAT it is the creative abilities test in which you have to sketch according to the question basically it's a drawing test which you have to give creatively and after that if you pass both these test then comes the situation test the 3rd stage of the exam in which you have to make 3d model according to the question the material is provided by the campus you just have to use that material only to make your model and write a concept note . If you pass all these test then councelling round were held in which you got campus according to your rank

The faculties are pretty good there .They are mostly understanding and knowledgeable.they teach students from basics for strong base .They are very punctual of time like literally they will not give entry to the student in class if he/she is 5 mins late in class.some of them are nift pass-out few years back.one of our faculty is Mrs Gulistan mam is very experienced teacher she also designed the stemp for election 2024 her hand work is way too amazing and another teacher is Mr.umair khan sir he is so perfectionist he our pattern making and garment construction teacher. There are 5 faculties who teaches us the strength of our class is 28 students.

There is proper gym in campus which is very beneficial for us . cafeteria is also there near the hostel .the campus last timing is 6:30 pm and hostel in timing is 7 pm . As kashmir is very beautiful place so there are many beautiful hangout places like dal lake,sonmarg, gulmarg and so on .but if we talk about night life there is no nightlife outside .there are no clubs .
