Course Curriculum Overview

5

I had only one motive to choose this course. I had to prepare for competition in future and it had all those subjects which would help me in future. Whatever subjects I had studied in this had developed me to a great extent for my further studies and my understanding. There were some topics in the syllabus which were difficult to learn. But I will not say anything about the teachers because they gave their best.

Fees and Financial Aid

My course was of 3 years in which you would have to pay ?2000 in the first year, ?5000 in the second year and ?8000 in the third year. My admission fee was ?3000 out of which.I did not take tuition classes. I did self study and every 6 months I had to pay 2000 rupees each as live fee and campus fee. I was from general category so I did not get any relaxation. That's why I had to pay more money than my brothers and sisters from other castes. I received ?8000 in the last third year of my course. I had never received a scholarship before that.

Campus Life

In our college, there used to be a Satyanarayan Katha every month. Apart from this, there used to be no cultural program in our college. Republic Day and Independence Day were celebrated with great pomp in which we used to display our drama and our singing talent. The books kept in the library helped us a lot and their writing in the books attracted us a lot. Our classes were very good. Away from the noise, we got a good study solution. This was the best thing about our college which we find one of the best things about our college. There was no sports or anything in the college. It was just studies and apart from that sometimes someone was called to motivate us. There was a group of students in our college which was known for doing social work, in which children used to participate according to their choice.

Admission

I did not apply to any other college. This was close to my home, so I applied to this college and our home is close to this college. So we do not have to go too far to take the exam, so we took admission in this college. I did not apply to any other college. I do not have any information about my application to any other college. There is no special procedure in the college so that we get admission in our college not according to our cut off but according to our merit and all the students get the same SIM. There is no high-fi or any other matter in it.

There are only about 300 students in the college and we all had very good relations with each other and in our college there were some senior students who used to trouble us by writing. The college had the best facilities. There was no noise in our class room while studying. That is why we enjoyed studying and the teachers also understood us very well. There was no fee concession for students of the general category. I found this faculty very bad. The reason for this is that sometimes the financial condition of students like us is not good. In 3 years, exams were held every year in different numbering which were held every 6 months. In some, there were 12 papers, in some, there was art paper and in some, there was printed paper.

Night Life

In college, we used to go to college from our home. So we were not allowed to roam anywhere, so we used to spend a good amount of time in the library. We used to spend a good amount of time in the classroom and we could also roam around the college campus. I did not study in a hostel, so I cannot tell anything about the hostel. I used to stay at my home with my family and used to attend college from my home. My college timing was 10:00 in the morning! We did not go out for sightseeing anywhere. We were taken on tours from our college. Where we were taken to different places. Apart from that, there was absolutely no place to roam around at night near our house. Especially not for girls, otherwise boys used to roam around all the time.

Mahatma Gandhi Kashi Vidyapith - [MGKVP], Bachelor of Arts [BA] (Education)
Reviewed on Feb 17, 2026(Enrolled 2023)

Course Curriculum Overview:

The BA curriculum in my college at Mahatma Gandhi Kashi Vidyapith (MGKVP) for the 2025–2026 academic year is structured under the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, making it academically comprehensive but traditionally theoretical. It follows a six-semester system that offers a wide range of subjects, from core Humanities (History, Political Science, Hindi) to modern electives and Vocational courses (e.g., Nutrition, Yoga, or Digital Literacy), providing students with a multidisciplinary framework. In terms of relevance, the syllabus is exceptionally well-suited for students aiming for government services and competitive exams (UPSC/UPPSC), as the depth of social science subjects mirrors the state and national civil service patterns. However, its professional comprehensiveness is lower; while the curriculum includes internal assessments, presentations, and project work to build soft skills, the actual delivery remains focused on rote learning and theory rather than industry-ready practical training. Consequently, the course is highly relevant for an academic or administrative career path but requires significant self-supplementation (internships or external skill-building) for those seeking immediate roles in the private sector.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum at Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) is well structured, relevant, and comprehensive. One of the main reasons I chose this course was its balanced syllabus, which includes both theoretical concepts and practical applications. The curriculum is designed in a way that builds a strong foundation in core subjects while also introducing advanced topics gradually. This helps students understand subjects deeply rather than just studying for exams.
