Course Curriculum Overview

4

The patient interaction and patient satisfaction is the most important thing that attracted me to this course The course has to be improved to practical application rather just teaching the theory which is the most important skill that a mbbs candidate has to be acquired with The frequency of exams are as good as every monday there is an internal assessment exam for us which is very useful for assessing where we are

Internships Opportunities

4

The internship opportunities in the college include compulsory rotatory internship programme whixh is about one year and they provide 20,000 per month and we are posted in various departments and we get to exposed to various cases acroos the cities and get more clinical knowledge

Placement Experience

4

The student become eligible for campus placement after the internship year which is after completing 5 years of college The highest package after a ug mbbs degree is 1 lakh and it varies according to the experience And the minimum salary a mbbs graduate earns is 35,000 My plans after the degree is to study higher and aim for a better pg degree and then do masters in radiology department and open a radiology centre in my hometown

Fees and Financial Aid

Im an centac student who pays 5 lakhs for academics alone per year.. On addition to it there are bus fees which costs 50,000 and book fees which costs additional 20,000 and other cultural like stuff expenses which is around 30,000..so on a note per year im paying 6,00,000..as i came through centacc quota of pondicherry and on passing each year except the internship year i get a return of 1.5 lakhss.. This for the merit students and for the management students the academic fees is around 16.2 lakhs and hostel fees including mess fees costs around 2 lakhs and other expensesss m. So per year the have to pay around 20,00,000. For Sc students and st students and the students of government quota, they will have to pay only for the books and other expenses and other fees are taken care by the government

Campus Life

3

The main cultural event happening in our college is aura which is the biggest cultural event after spandan in pondicherry and the cost of the vent costs around 50 lakhsss The facilities in the class includesss smart bodar facility and air conditioning all ove r the class and comfortable bench to sit The sports activities in the college include all types of sports events such as cricket hockey football basketball chess carrom kabbadi badminton volleyball etcc There council and deputy elections happening in the college and the students of deputy and council takes responsibility for all the students jndulges activities in the college

Admission

I applied to jipmer, indhira gandhi medical college and pondicherry Institute of medical sciences through my neet mark which is 530 and i got pims through my mark sice cutoff for the above two colleges were scruting more marks Yes i got rejected from other two colleges because im an general category student And my neet mark was 530. The general category mark needed to join jipmer was 628 and the general category mark required to join indhira gandhi was 580 this is the reason ingot rejected The admission process for my college is as same as other medical college the neet exam which is conducted by national testing agency

Faculty

4

The faculty students ratio is perfectly balanced for a medical college Each department has around 10 staffs and in that 5 staffs are very well knowledgeable that is what we can expect from a medical college The most knowledgeable and the staff i liked the most is jayagandhi mam who takes anatomy for the forat year students.. And mams teaching style is something that i cant explain through words and woth help pf her i got first class marks in anatomy exam The staff i didn't like to be honest is shanthi mam from physiology department hating just because she has came for min class of our batch and in that class also she would get many phone calls etccc

Night Life

4

The hostel and campus is one of the best in the cities with utmost all rules and a proper indorr enjoyment all well balnaced The indorr enjoyment invloves poker area, gym and a widley spaced library which covers all types of book and there is also all sports arena whaere the hostel students spends a lot The hostel timings include in time of 10:00 and has mess which provides high quality food all the time The include non veg three times a week which is to the core best

MBBS in general is a very long and tiresome course. I suggest you to only take it if you are really passionate about it. Having said that, JIPMER's curriculum is one of the best all over India. They focus majorly on the clinical skills which ensures that by the time you finish your course, you will become one of the best clinicians.
