What Students Say
Likes
- The campus infrastructure was good and there was availability of food in almost every building, there was vending machine and food court with wide range of food options.
- The Events. The university celebrate almost all kinds of events including cultural specific events too though the students had to coordinate for most of the things and sometimes getting attendance was a hassle
- Anti bullying environment. Over the course of 4 year, I never experienced bullying of any sort from the campus. Nor I was harrassed in any way (my personal experience)
Dislikes
- Attendance. Attendance was an improvement thing and you would get extra marks or can get failed due to attendance. So even for the non important classes you can suffer due to attendance issues. And you have to run around to get it done.
- Not a very Social place. The university was amazing but there was no much attachment or socialising between the students. Some would make a small group and hangout outside the University. But this is not an issue. It's purely based your luck
Course Curriculum Overview
My curriculum was mostly creative based and we were taught the basic of softwares both Adobe and 3D. But we had to use crack version. The institute couldn't provide us with an authentic software. And most of the time we relied on tutorials. We were also taught the traditional style of frame by frame animation, stop motion, green screen, photography and everything. So yeah the curriculum was pretty helpful in terms of learning softwares.
Placement Experience
They do have placement criterias and TOS usually come for placement (their average is 6 LPA) . But in our batch (animation batch) none of us were required. So we got offers from smaller companies. And honestly, from my experience, the company I joined wasn't that worth it. So I went to pursue Masters and Joined NID But
Fees and Financial Aid
The course I opted for was Animation in Fine arts. Therefore the feeling structure was 75K per semester. And my course was of 4 year which included 8 semesters. The tuition fee, caution Fres , admission fees, lab fees were all included in the semester fees. There was registration fee and security fees which was deposited. There's an small perk of scholarship according to your performance. But if you get Scholarship at the last year then you won't be getting the scholarship amount. Just a certificate. No financial aid is available.
Campus Life
My campus was initially great interacting with multiple people. At the beginning of the 1 semester we had onam event so I was able to interact with people from my state and I had one of the best Onam memories from that campus. And they do have huge fest every year which is quite grand with celebrities coming and concerts happening. There are lot of dance club none official from the campus. Bt that's one of the best way to socialize. Extra curricular is also there but not a huge thing. I don't remember attending any sports event. Also students doesn't really have a voice there. Only the authorities decides what to do. Facilities has been provided. The classes are air conditioned, projector is provided for learning. The foreign Business Language course. Etc
Admission
I wanted to do animation since school. And I knew that National institute of Design provide that education for UG and PG. So I wanted to apply for that institute but I failed to get in for UG. That's when I searched for more colleges providing the same course and found out about Amity. And then I applied. The entrance process was easy. I just had to give an exam just for formality. It was very easy to get since it's a private college.
Faculty
So the Students faculty rappo is pretty chill. Especially the younger faculties are very understanding. Over the course we had interaction with a lot of different faculties because we had around 13 courses per semester. Also in my case, I was a studious student so I had a good relationship with the faculties. They are helpful when you approach them with doubt or when they get to know how hardworking and serious you are. And they will help. At most faculties will. So I would say try to be in good terms with them. And be serious about your attendance, that's where the most problem exists.
Night Life
There's much of a night life for Day scholars. It's mostly hostel people at night. And From what I heard from hostlers, hostel life is like jail, you can't go out of campus at all with the hostler card. And all the students have card entry (you can enter with your card) . Plus hostler has to request everytime they have to go out and that's time taking to get the approval. Also you have to be in hostel by 9:30 pm for girls and 10:30 or 11 pm for boys. It's stricter for girls. There is gym, cafeteria and an amazing big library. Which has different different timings. The popular hangout places are Arcadia, Food court in H block, I block cafeteria. And there are lawns where you can go and chill.
