Course Curriculum Overview

3

It's all the facilities. They nurture us. They let us know how the real world works. If I have to choose any decision, I will have to rely on them. Eventhough, the course's importance is decreasing day by day. I just have to prove that I am meant for this field.

Internships Opportunities

3

As of now, there's no internships going on as I'm in 2nd year. Internships opportunities are provided in the fourth year. There are companies like IBM which provides internships with stipend. The college tries to get the students placed in some internship programs handling some projects.

Placement Experience

3

I've heard that a lot of companies visit our college during the campus placements. The placements are quite good. There's a friend of mine who is senior who got placed in HP for 7lpa, which is quite good as a beginner. Since, getting placed is quite stressful as there's interviews with a lot of rounds, only a few are placed. Maximum would be 10. My plan after getting my degree is to join Indian Navy.

Fees and Financial Aid

So, I joined through COMEDK. So my fees sums upto 2,15,000 rupees per annum. Since I joined through COMEDK, there won't be any increase in my fees. I'll have to pay the same amount of money for all the 4 years. COMEDK fees is around 200000. The tution and lab fees is for 15,000. A few of my classmates have joined the college through management. The fees varies from 3lpa to 5lpa depending on their marks scored in 12th/II Puc.

Campus Life

2

There's a few things that I'm interested in. That is chess and basketball. There's no good infrastructure to promote indoor games. The sports department is worst out of all. They don't provide any opportunities for basketball. They don't assign any coach to any sports. Few hackathons happens once in a while in our college. There's no clubs line culturals or dance, etc. There's no auditorium. There's no extracurricular activities provided in the campus.

Admission

My KCET examination's rank was withheld as there was some problem in uploading my 12th marks to the website. I was left with one option that is to join colleges through COMEDK. I wanted to join colleges like Dayanand Sagar, RNSIT, etc. I couldn't make it as my rank was quite low. To be honest my COMEDK exam didn't go well. I got a rank of 37,371. The only college which was quite decent for the rank that I got was Don Bosco Institute of technology. So, I had to join DBIT.

Faculty

3

The Faculties in the CSE department are quite good compared to the other departments. There's no shortage in the faculty members. There are bad and good faculties. I only say bad, when the teaching is not upto the mark. Faculties struggle to teach us in English. In you know Kannada, you can understand what the teacher is trying to tell you. The name of the faculty that I liked is Mohammed Khaleem and Hemanth Kumar. They both handled Java for me in my current sem. They're are well educated teachers. Sinchana KP is the only faculty that a lot of people might not like because of her behaviour. Teaching isn't that good. Some other teacher must be given a chance and replace her.

Night Life

1

The locality is not at all safe to roam at night, especially for girls. There are boys who hangout in the ciggerate shops stalking on women. There's no good cafeterias around the college. There's isn't any of hangout spots around the college as the locality is very poorly maintained. The locality is always dirty while drainage water flows in front of college.

Placement Experience:

From your 7th semester you become eligible to get placed and it is mandatory to get internship before you get placed which the college helps you to get and around 400-500 companies visit, and a good amount of offers are made by them. The average package stands somewhere around 11LPA -12LPA and the highest goes to 50LPA-60LPA and the median stands around 9-10LPA.

Course Curriculum Overview:

As I'm in 1st semester. I will update you after my exams. But one good thing is that from this year, internals and externals will hold same weightage i.e., 50/50 If you can score more than 45% in internals which wouldn't be that big of a deal because they'll ask most the questions from class notes. Most of the faculties are average I would say. But some are good professors too. I chose CSE because I find these topics interesting since junior school. And everyone is just jumping into cse is a reason too lol.
