Life of design student in woxsen

The course is very hectic and is very straining The competion is also quite high and its hard to be paid well in this job which makes it very hard The college gives us alot of work that helps us get used to the industry and how it works there is alot of exposure through internships and expos The faculty is quite strict that makes itbhard to get approvals for assignments The numbers of redos makes u think it all again but it a process of its own They also have modules that includes us talking to people and understand there lives so we can desing better We are also introduced to different materials like wood metal ect that helps u understand how they work Extrnal faculty also is brought so we can learn more We also have coursera courses that gives us insght into stuff

There are placements given but we dont preffer to take these as it is not good enough and our faculty encourages us to get our own coz it helps in exposure The salaries can be pretty low compared to other schools like bba Desing is very different it needs both artistic and logical minds as it is subjective and people have diffrent ideologies that makes it hard to fullfil all the requirements

The total fees is 2.3lakhs in which tuition fee is 1.6lakhs and the hostel fee is 30k Food laundry is the rest We have to put our own expenses for material we need for classes We can get about 50% scholarship I personally got a 20% scholarship

The social life is pretty nice it can be dull sometimes due to the time of the year but mostly is very good There are alot of events conducted that pretty grand but obviously it is expensive as well There are alot of clubs to choose from there are clibs for every interest There are also school clubs Through these clubs u also get to go to diffrent events and participate there There is alot of exposure The infrastructure is very nice And we can be out of campus it 2 at night wuth is quite good

Our campus is a residential campus which make everyone live in the campus The hostels and very clean and the cleaners come alternative days to claean the rooms with is very nice and they do a very good job at it as well Problems that are mostly face are the water problems and pest control since we live inear farm lands there can be alot of insects

I did apply to many colleges some i couldn't get into and the others had there pros and cons that made me back off The colleges i got into were situer far from home or they dont have good reviews The colleges that i couldn't get in was mostly cos i want not eligible with the tests And most of the time the desing colleges didnt have enough space for interior design or there was no interior design only Which made it hard to gef into a college with the course i want

My faculty is pretty good they are pretty open to ideas which allows us for new ideas and be creative Most of them are graduates of NID Alot of them are young which makes them easy to reatle to They are honest which sometimes can be hard but that dose give an exposure to the industry There are 8 sems in total that is 4 years The first year us the foundation year which is mostly about bascis of desing The following years are domain based which is like interior or fashion or product and visual communication There are both internals and externals The internals are the reviews of professors amd the externals are when an external(a industry specialist ) comes and conducts ur jury After every even semester you have to do an internship that is reviewed in the odd semester.

The noght in the campus is pretty good since we are allowed to stay till 2 at night it is very fun we cant go out of campus tho we can only go out on weekends and the campus is away from city And became the campus is away from city the skies are very clear and it is very peaceful Its perfect for star gazing
