Course Curriculum Overview
I initially opted for MBBS since I couldn't get into it I chose BDS through counselling. The college prepares you for the real world as in communicating and treating plenty of patients. Treating patients begins from as early as in 3rd yr. The exam a bit difficult all the subjects are vast. The exams lasts around 3 hrs
Internships Opportunities
My college provides internship in house itself. The internship period will be an amazing 1yr. It will be the yr in which we get to apply every other thing learn and to develope and learn a lot of things. We received an amount of 2500 as stipend every month with 1 day of casual leave
Fees and Financial Aid
BDS is a 5 yrs course in which only in the first four yrs fees has to be paid since the 5th yr is internship. We have to enter through counselling so the same amount of fees pains on the 1st yr will be continued for all four yrs. The fees for every new batch may differ as per the college ranking. In the intership(5th yr) stipend will be received.
Campus Life
Since SRM University is a big and great campus there will always be a thing or the other going on in the college. The dental department has a separate cultural known as the TAANDAV and MILAN the cultural fest that includes around 10000 cllleges occur in SRM.
Hostel Facilities
The hostel also varies for each and every department along ng with the fee structures. For my department is, either 2 sharing non ac, 2 sharing ac, 3 sharing non ac and 3 sharing ac. The meals also vary for every other hostel. The quality of the food will be ok ok. We can register for hostel through online.
Admission
I applied to other government dental colleges in Tamil Nadu. But since my neet score was not up to the standards I couldn't enter the government colleges. Private Colleges which have the first two ranking are very expensive so I didn't opt for them. NEET exam has to be written and the marks obtained along woth the counselling procedures will provide us with a the availability of colleges for us and we need to select from them.
Faculty
There are plenty of staffs as in 7 students per staff. The staffed are well qualified and are very easily approachable. We have a total of 5 university exams in the academic period. In the first three yrs the exams are held at the end of the academic yr along with practical examination. But in the fourth yr it is separated into two semesters in which we have exams in each semester as in end of a period of 6 months.
Night Life
The SRM university itself is a great hangout spot. There are several food courts, restaurants, supermarkets, atms, salon, parlour, photo shop, electronics, etc. Around SRM there are many more cafes roof top restaurants and some very amazing place to have food n with your frnd and will be good for your Instagram also. There is a library specific to every department as well as a central library complying all the departments. SRM is ann my axing at might and also very safe for girls .
