MBA at IITJ

The curriculum in our department is theoretical and academically heavy rather than being more practical. The curriculum is loaded with subjects like economics, marketing, statistics, research, finance and operations.

During the first semester EY came for the technology risk role. But as many of the students were fresher there were many live projects opportunities for the students to upskill themselves for the industry.

For summer internship the companies start coming up in the 1st semester itself and the process goes on till all the students are placed for summer internship. For final placements many students get PPO and for others companies start coming from 3rd semester.

Tuition Fee- 2,00,000/ semester Semester Fees- 27,250 Hostel/Mess- 23000/ Semester The above fee structure is for general and NC-OBC students the fees for SC/ST is relatively quite low which is around 1,80,000 for 2 years excluding the hostel fees.

Life at IIT Jodhpur is amazing as it offers immense amount of exposure to any student. The student can socialise with students from different fields and backgrounds such as liberal arts, design, technology, AI, etc.

Hostel facility at IITJ is better than any other college. Every student gets a single occupancy room with an AC, bed , chair and a table the mattress has to brought on your own. There's a vending machine and a gym/common room in every hostel.

IIT itself is a brand and chosing iit over any other private college was my personal choice. I got a confirmed admission in IMT Nagpur, then I shifted to iit Jodhpur. The college first sends out a interview shortlist on the basis of a strict cutoff and then students are selected based on the interview.

Since, our department is relatively new only few of the faculties are great mainly for marketing and economics. There are two exams in a semester, that is minor and major. The exam schedule is very rigorous as we also have 2/3 exams in a single day. The grading is relative so the class performance matter.

There was no group discussion or a written test for the admission. It was only a personal interview on the basis of which the students were selected. Most of the weightage was given to the cat scores of the candidate.

Nightlife inside the college is quite good as the canteen and cafeterias are open till 2 AM and people hangout at cafeteria to talk to friends and chill. But still there are vending machines all over the campus. Campus timings to go out is till 10 PM and to come back is till 11 PM but still if the student comes late he/she has to enter from the main gate.
