What Students Say?
Likes
- The vast campus, it does get us to keep our electronic devices aside for a while
- The staff, they are quite friendly, atleast this is applicable for the CS branch as I'm not very sure about others
Dislikes
- The students, most of them are not serious a out their studies
- The language barrier, the teachings are majorly in kannada hence it takes a while to get along with
Course Curriculum Overview
Well I wasn't sure of taking CSE, but I did it either way. I'll be either going with graphic designing or continue with CSE after my diploma. Well the curriculum does help prepare ourselves for the real world applications and further academic pursuits too. The teachings of the staff is proficient already. The difficulty of the exams are easy asf, you'll have IAs everyday month
Internships Opportunities
Like I said, I'm not very familiar with the internship opportunities here. I don't think it'll be that good as it's a polytechnic, the packages offered by them won't be good enough either. Well you can get alot better internship once you get into an actual university/ engineering college.
Placement Experience
5th/6th sem students are eligible for campus placements. I'm not very sure of the names of the companies that visit here. I'm told that the average package here is around 3-4lpa. Well I do recommend y'all to continue with further studies as the packages offered here definately won't be near enough considering the inflation and the growing demand of us human
Fees and Financial Aid
The fee for 1st sem is 18000. The fee can be reduced by applying SNQ quota or other quotas. Me personally I opted for SNQ quota, and got the fee reduced to 13000. Well the college does help us students to opt for scholarships by letting us know about them.
Campus Life
The campus here is quite big, very big tbh, you do have a cricket ground, a volleyball court, and more than enough are for a few other sports too. Not much annual or technical fests are held here. Alot of books and journals are available at the library which includes the books or the curriculum and other non curriculum books too.the technology provided within the classrooms are bare minimum, well you can't really expect more than that with the fee we pay. Yeah there are a few sports fest held, one was held in the month of August too. Well they did say that "RED CROSS" and "NSS" were available here. But I haven't noticed anything of that sort yet
Admission
Like I said, I did not originally want to get into diploma. I actually wanted to get in RV for my 11th and 12th, but got into diploma due to my parents. I only opted for MEI and got my admission confirmed as I was quite confident due to my 10th marks. Yeah MEI was the only college I applied and hence I got into it without a rejection. All you need is your 10th marksheet and a few other credentials in order to get into this college. You'll need atleast 75% to get into CSE. The admission process was quite easier than I thought it'd be
Faculty
The faculty are really great, atleast in CSE branch and the Science Department too. They are very approachable and quite friendly too. I teacher I liked the most were Kamala ma'am (math) and Shashikanth sir(FOC). The rest of the faculty were great too. There are 3 IAs and 1SEE in the first sem. Listening to the class is enough to Ace the exams
Night Life
Haha there's no gym, not cafeterias here. The library closes by 4:30pm and I'm not quite sure of when the campus area is close. There no college hostel, but you can find a few hostels nearby as a few of my friends stay in hostel. You can find Ram mandir ground, lulu hypermarket, and spanda ground nearby. There not much to roam around for at night here
Other Applied Colleges
S.J. GOVERNMENT POLYTECHNIC | Diploma in Computer Engineering
This was quite far from my residential adress
