A Review on University of Kashmir

I paid 9279 for 1st and 2nd Semester in 2021 pursuing Masters Degree in Sociology. It included library fees, IT fees, NSS fee and other charges as well. There was no such departmental scholarship for students enrolled there.

The overall experience during my stay at the campus was fully learner conducive and there was a lot to grab and experience. The university is one of the top 50 rank universities in the country offering a number of courses at a highest level. Conferences on multiple topics and themes monthly as well as various festivals were held like annual day, yoomi iqbal , sounzal a talent hunt festival and numerous other departmental festivals gets celebrated. Iqbal library one the largest libraries in the entire valley is hub of knowledge

This institution provides hostel facility as well for both boys and girls. Majority of the rooms available are 3 or 4 beded. The room has light facilty, separate wadrobes and washroom is not attached. The quality of meal is good and the menu gets cahnged every week on demand and review of the broaders. In order to get a seat in the hostel one has to apply for hostel accommodation one month before. The criteria for selection is distance from the campus 50+ kms should be the minimumum distance. On this basis hostel accommodatiom is provided. I rented a room before i got hostel accommodation in Habbak area of Hazratbal. The place was quiet and safe

This was central place for my higher studies. Being a productive institution and quality outcome, it was my dream place. I didnt applied for other colleges . If i talk about the admission and selection process, first we have to register themselves for entrance test (MCQs based of 60 marks) that decides our fate because there is limited no. Of seats available and cut off ranges every year above 40+. After students qualify the test, they have to fulfill the admission formalities in a stipulated period of time.

There was 5 teachers for 72 students.The relationship between faculty and student was good and approaching one. Some teachers were easily accessible but some were not due to their busiest schedule. I almost like all teachers and will prefer not to disclose their names and one two faculty were whom i dont like at all due to numerous reasons. There were exam conducted semester wise twice in a year. The examination pattern was subjective in nature and the question paper were moderate and few students were unable to clear the examinztion. Curriculum was good and relevant enough

The university is located in a very beautiful place namely Naseem Bagh Hazratbal. Covered by beautiful Chinar trees, this campus is situated on the bank of Dal Lake adding more glamour and charm . There are a no of hostels separately available for boys and girls at separate places. The hostels are well maintained and there is a separate gym center available for physical fitness. A no of cafetarias are also available in the campus. The famous one is Bouni Shehjaar. The campus opens at 10 00 clock in the morning and closes at 5 00 clock. There is a 24×7 library available in the campus. The place is safe enough for all in a day but little bit unsafe at night due to street dogs
