What Students Say
Likes
- The best part of the college I liked was the lush green beauty of the college as its huge and great to explore.
- The faculty is highly experienced with few having PhDs and graduated from NITs and students are competitive too.
- The infrastructure is really beautiful from the outside and is huge and is spacious enough for 100s of students and not congested at all.
Dislikes
- I really disliked the fact that college building is severely old and really needs renovation as it feels like it can breakdown any moment.
- Some faculties are negligent towards their students and levae them to study on their own.
- Practical exams are not conducted with seriousness and students are asked to write whatsoever they know hence no proper moderation.
Course Curriculum Overview
I chose this course to pursue my passion in CSE and the curriculum is is well designed so that in near future what we have learnt will help us so that we won't struggle, the area for improvement in this curriculum is that curriculum can be made a little more difficult as it's too easy and teaching methods should be improved that is the student should be moderated a lot.
Internships Opportunities
The companies that majorly provided internship experience this year were startups such as LendingKart which gave 5k-10k per month for a duration 6 months. They asked the students to either manage their Website i.e. web-dev work or to make apps for their company or manage the customer data base which allowed the students fo experience customer handling and real life problems first hand
Placement Experience
Students become eligible for placements after 7th semester. Several prominent companies like Deloitte, Intel, Facebook visit the campus with highest and lowest ctc being 45Lpa and 7lpa respectively. About 90% students get placed every year. I plan on doing a desk job after graduation.
Fees and Financial Aid
The yearly fee structure for Parul University is 94800 (Tuition Fees)+ 54200 (Univeristy Fees) per year. Registration Fees was INR 10000. My batchmates with Category like SC/ST have their per year fees as low as 25000. We have been provided scholarship based on meri upto 20000 where i got 13000 rs.
Campus Life
Recently they conducted IIMUN and New Year Fest coming up soon. The events are generally held between an interval of 3-5 months. Library is full of books necessary for your course so its ample. The campus is well equipped with Wifi and Labs are also well equipped. There are several sports clubs such as Basketball, Cricket club etc for sports freaks. The students here are also of various ethinicity making it a vibrant experience here hence social life is kinda fun here.
Hostel Facilities
The hostel is well equipped with hot water and WiFi. The food is just consumable and average. When we enter our college we get a hostel kit which has bedsheets, and toiletries. Registration process involves a submission of security deposit of 22k for AC rooms and 10k for Non-AC rooms. The hostel is located within the campus itself.
Admission
I also applied to SRMIST but didn't choose due to high fees compared to less than 6L for 4 years in PIT. Although I did get an admission letter I denied those. The admssion process was based on either Management Quota(which I took) other is GUJCET. The admssion is not at all difficult and as long as your 12th %age is above 45% you won't be denied admssion. Most students prefer the Management Quota or JEE mode of admsison.
Faculty
There is a ratio of 1:70 facult to student ratio. Most faculties are nice to students with a few exceptions here and there. Pratibha Ma'am, our CTSD teacher is highly capable especially since she clearly knows her C language and knows how to control the class. I'd like to avoid naming few of the faculties I dislike but the fault with them is that they just bunk classes more than we do i..e they are absent a lot. There are 4-6 weekly exams before semester exam and passing is not that difficult as exams are of easy to moderate level.
Night Life
Students can't get out of campus without gatepass and outtime is netween 6:30 pm to 7:30 pm only for boys and the hours before is for girls. There are several and more than enough stores for our basic needs. Hostel gates are closed after 9:30 pm unless any event. The best place to hangout inside the campus is PU Circle.
