A detailed overview for KIIT

The curriculum is pretty nice covering all the mandatory outcomes one needs after completing a degree. The course is divided into units having different course outcomes, making it easier to understand what all we will be able to do after completion. The exams are not very difficult, all one needs to ace the exams is a good grip over the professor's notes and good attendance in class.

For computer science and engineering, the per semester fees is 1,92,000. For seat booking, 75000 is to be deposited, out of which 10,000 is for registration and the other 65,000 is for laptop, books etc.

The annual college fest happens in January-February. It is a 3 day event, where cultural, technical and all types of events take place. Out of 3 days, 2 days have star nights in which big bollywood stars comes to show their magic making the fest a memorable one. The KIIT Central Library is a 7 floor large architecture located just opposite the campus 3 gate. It has books,e-books and virtual library. The library is designed in such a way that it gives you comfort with the privilege to learn. The classes are equipped with projectors, making it easier for the faculties to show ppts regarding the course. The college has KSAC which is the KIIT Student Activity Centre, where all the backend work of all college events takes place. The college has multiple societies like KORUS, KREATIVE EYE, KIITMUN etc all for people with different passions.

There are two types of rooms available, 2 seater and 3 seater with or without washroom, with or without ac. The room has ac,washroom if chosen, a study table, chair, bed, a new mattress and a wardrobe. The mess meals are 4times a day, breakfast, lunch, snacks and dinner, serving a variety of cuisines. The mess is compulsory with hostel.

I gave JEE Mains and got 96.8 percentile which gave me many government funded colleges but not with computer science, keeping my passion for computer science in mind I decided to take up KIIT as it had great placement record and great faculties. The admission process of KIIT is very simple, one needs to give an online entrance exam by applying on the college portal, 4 round of exams are done followed by the declaration of rank list and then branch preferences are asked. After few days, you get your allotment letter for the branch in your preferences according to your rank.

The student to teacher ration is 80:1. Faculties are very nice and approachable, be it for clearing doubts, seeking career advice or other issues. Mr.Utkal Keshari Dutta taught me mathematics in my first year, he's a great teacher and mentor. We studied biology in our second semester and Mrs.Sarbari Acharya was my professor, such a friendly teacher who made the learning experience a great one. Two exams happens in each semester, mid sem and end sem. The total marks of a theory paper is 100; 20 is mid sem, 30 is internals, 50 is end sem. The total marks of a practical paper is 100; 60 is continuous evaluation, 40 is final lab exam.

Gym, cafeterias are there in every hostel. Every department also has its own canteens. Library functions 24/7. Hostel timings are strict in first year then it slightly eases. For girls in first year it is 6.00 pm and for boys it is 7.00 pm.
