Course Curriculum Overview

4

I only took polytechnic to get lateral a=entry admission to Btech. But I've come to like this course. It is very easy and covers all basics of technical subjects. I wish the course included more practical than theoretical subjects. Right now it is balanced Exams are scheduled so that after the first 2 modules of wach subject there is an internal, after another two, there is another exam and then the end semester exams as well.

Internships Opportunities

3

There is Mandatory internship after 2nd and 4th semester. You can choose the companies for this. Also you can opt to skip the sixth semester for Internship in government approved companies. But this is very hard to get.

Placement Experience

3

The college boasts 60% placement. There is no real balance between the departments. In my opinion CT students get less placement. Packages average at about 1 lakh per annum. Like i said before, I plan to pursue Btech after this.

Campus Life

4

Class time is the only time you are allowed on campus. No hostel, and college closes after 6PM. Library has limited amount of material. All classes in the new block are Smart Classes. There is moderate politics.

Admission

I did'nt really have a choice, this was the only college that i had a chance at. I entered through lateral entry, which starts you off at the second year, if you have already completed Plus Two or ITI. There is a website through which you manage admission procedure.

Faculty

4

In my experience most teachers were very approachable and most defenitely would help you with whatever, excluding some rare circumstances. There is one faculty for each subject(this is the norm in gptc). There are two internal exams per semester and one final semester exam. Exams are moderately difficult. I like most faculties.

Interview Experience

5

No. Admission is via allotment. I procured admission through Spot Admission, where remaining reserved seats were converted to general seats and because of this, I was able to get admitted. For allotment, you register through a website and give necessary details. You will get admission according to mars of your previous study.

Night Life

1

No night life since college closes at 6PM. College opens at 8AM. There are no hostels. While the college is open people mostly hangout on the frontyard, the cafateria, etc. There is library facility with all kinds of technical books and weekly & Monthly magazines.

Other Applied Colleges

Institute of Printing Technology & Government Polytechnic College- [IPTGTC] Shornur | Diploma in Computer Engineering

Did not get admission via Lateral Entry.

Government Polytechnic College - [GPC], Palakkad | Diploma in Computer Hardware Engineering

I got a better option(Computer Enginnering).

Course Curriculum Overview:

I just choosed electronics because it was a good course comparing to others I'm just aiming for lateral entry exam to btech this course I'm learning is just a step for that door. For real world applications idk how much they are preparing us because I think most of these preparations are for exam and only exam oriented those who likes the course may get the real world experience others only pass the exam. Teacher should be more focused on exam oriented teaching and should include technology like projecting images, showing videos as ai had this growth it's easy for them to teach something to us easily they should implement it. Frequency and timing is not bad because there is one month gap between each exam.
