What Students Say
Likes
- Our college provides placement opportunities for students studying there and every year, we provide placement opportunities to students at many companies.
- Similarly, well-graduated teachers teach the students. Every year, they improve their teaching skills. In addition, the college provides expensive machines and facilities in the lab for the students.
- Being a British-built building, the college has its own charm and gives off a positive vibe. There is a girls' room for girls to take a break during their periods.
Dislikes
- It's a shame that the college doesn't have a good canteen. The canteen that does exist doesn't have enough seating for everyone, and the food isn't clean.
- The boys' washroom is very small and sometimes smells bad when you walk through it.
- The college auditorium is old. It needs some improvement. The auditorium does not give a vibe that is suitable for college ambience.
Course Curriculum Overview
This course is very easy to learn. The faculty teaches the class in a way that everyone can understand. The faculty teaches everything using a projector and giving printed notes. To make learning easier for the children, they conduct seminars and take classes with them. They also provide short notes.
Internships Opportunities
The internship I was studying for was to go to a site or company somewhere in a group, work there for one month, and get a certificate. We, 11 people, did our internship in Kattippara village panchayat. What we did was go to the overseers' site and help them.
Placement Experience
When I was in my fifth semester, companies were coming for college placements.Companies select students through interviews and testsTo get placement, there should not be supply and a 70% above CGPA was also required.Every year, many students get placements in companies like Tata, ULCCS, and Aarbee Structure.
Fees and Financial Aid
The college also provides scholarships called E-Grants to SC/ST and OBC categories on a fee basis. For those in the OBC category, all fees are taken from the scholarship and then transferred to the account at the end of the year. But for the Sc/St category students, the scholarship is credited to their account every year and after that they pay the fees directly to the office. This is the practice now.The main fee is tuition fee-1740, exam fee-690, special fee-1770 and accounting allowance-1500. The fee for Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Diploma in Computer Engineering, Diploma in Civil Engineering, Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Diploma in Chemical engineering and diploma in Tool and Die Engineering are same.
Campus Life
Festivals like Onam, Vishu, Iftar, Christmas, Holi, etc. are all celebrated in the college.Similarly, arts and sports are also conducted. The library also has study materials, journals, novels, stories, etc. necessary for children to study and read. There are clubs like ncc, nss etc.
Admission
The main eligibility for this course is 10th pass. This is the same as what we usually do for +1 admission. Apply online. Admission is based on caste and merit, you will get a chance to get a seat.Once you get the allotment, you can join the college directly. You will get help desk facility in the college to complete the college admission. Those who have passed class 12th will also get direct lateral entry into the second year.It would be a good idea to bring all the preliminary certificates when you come for admission.
Faculty
The college is staffed by 90-100 faculty members. It offers engineering courses in civil, electrical, computer, chemical, mechanical, and tool and die with a 3-year course structure. All departmental students will have general faculties until the first year. That is, the general faculty is responsible for teaching subjects such as mathematics and physics. All the departments and faculties are very friendly towards the students and will help them clear all their doubts and study. All series exam will be a serious test, and that too will be strictly conducted. It is equal to the main exam.
Interview Experience
I didn't have any exam stuff like that. I had a group discussion with my family about taking admission, nothing else. The faculty only asked me for personal details when taking admission. There has been no other interview, exam, church, group, or anything else.
Night Life
It's a beautiful sight to see when the entire college is lit up. I can see everyone coming in after the evening batch, gym, and cricket. College nights are incredibly relaxing. All my friends would go to the shop and the library and tell stories. The NSS camp was fun, singing, dancing, cooking, everything. That's when I realized how fun college nightlife is.
