MCA : An Experience

I choose the MCA course because I have interest in Software Engineering. I want to be a Software Engineer that's why I choose this course. But the course is outdated, not relevant to industry demands. I would suggest to update the syllabus and update the teaching method of the professors. There are 2 semester exams in a year and 2 internal exams per semester. They are of moderate level.

The year wise admission fees is Rs. 39800/-. The hostel fees is 48000. The addmission fees includes tution fees, caution fees, registration fees, development fees, lab fees and other compulsory charges during the course. The fees for B.Tech course is also the same, except computer science branch which is self finance course. I got scholarship of 12000/- per year as I was OBC category.

There are many festivals organised by different departments of the college. As I am in Computer Science department. Our department organises a festival called Technovation every year. It was held on April month of every year. There is a big central library where you can access many books and free internet. There are black boards in every class room. There is annual sports happen every year where students can participate. There is a group for Thi-Boxing also.

I applied to all the government colleges in Odisha. I gave this college as my 3rd option. I gave CET, Bhubaneswar as my first option. But my OJEE rank was 252 so I got selected in this college in first selection. So it was a government college and it comes in the top 3 government engineering colleges in Odisha that's why I choose this college for addmission. So eligibility here is that you must have 50% in your graduation and a good OJEE rank.

The faculties to students ratio is 1:15. The faculties and students relationship is good. Facilities are approachable. The name of the faculty I like is Mr. Ramesh Sir. He taught us Python and Android Programming. I like his teaching style. I don't like the faculty named Dr. S.N Mishra. He was a drunk. There are 2 semister exams in a year, and these exams are of moderate level. Maximum students pass the exam. Course curriculum is outdated.

There is open gym facility in the field of the college. There is two cafeterias in the college campus. There is one central library for students. Hostel is decent. They provide average food. For girls the hostel gate closes at 7:00PM. For Boys it is unrestricted. For hangouts you can go to Surya Hotel near the college. Locality is safe to roam around at night.
