Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum is moderately relevant but seeks room for improvement. Aspects that influenced my decision is that the curriculum offers a mix of theory and practical elements that matches my interest. The curriculum provides a decent foundation for real world applications especially through its presentations and subjects like emerging technologies and digital literacy. Curriculum up to date and skill development will prove to be the areas of improvement in the course curriculum The frequency of time is fair enough and two exams are held each semester that is the mid sem and end sem. The difficulty level is average but for a few subjects it can be quite challenging judging by the preparation done on behalf of the faculties. More open book or application based evaluations can enhance our learnings
Internships Opportunities
For courses like Bcom, companies like Flipkart have offered a 7LPA of internship which is a great opportunity to grab. The projects include financial accounting or bookkeeping or processing of orders and studd related to digital marketing
Placement Experience
I believe the third semester students are eligible for campus placements. Companies like flipkart, amazon, TCS, Infosys, etc have approached the college and have hired or placed more than 400 students with an average package of 4LPA which is not eeally bad for starters. They range up to 9-10LPA as per your ability and knowledge and skills. The highest package has gone upto more than 30LPA and lowest is around 3LPA based on your skills. The percentage of students getting placed I believe is provided around some 50-60% My plans after degree is to apply for campus placements or grabbing internship opportunities
Fees and Financial Aid
So i have secured 78% in my CBSE board exams in 12th in MEC which helped me procure a seat in BCOM(INTERNATIONAL ACCOUNTING SPECIALISATION) at SRMAP University for Rs.112000 and the general BCOM fees for my category is Rs.80000
Campus Life
We have many fests in SRM AP. Some names of the big fests being INFINITUS, ALOHA, KALISTA and AMEYA. These are the biggest fests conducted and KALISTA is a new fest introduced this year by the E-cell club that is Entrepreneurship cell. The fests are superb over here with many big guests invited creating a adrenaline boost among the students. The fests names mentioned earlier are cultural fests. We also have technical fests which are great success for our university every year. So the Aloha fest is basically freshers party which takes place at every odd semester and the infinitus and ameya fests take place every even semester which is around the month of February or march. Talking about the library, it is situated at CV raman block on the 12th floor. We have all the books for each course and the set up and sequence is all set which will help the students to find their book fast and help them with their preparation. Technological provisions are also first class. We have a smart board at every class and if if faces any problem the technician quickly responses and fix the issue. The sports overall is very well managed and has a high scope. Many students from our university have secured international to district level achievements and we have a huge space dedicated to sports activities let it be indoor or outdoor sports. We also have a gym which operates 12 hours continuously for both hostellers and day scholars. We also have student councils every year cateogorised into technical wing, events wing, academic wing and sports. Each club in this campus also have a convenor and co-convenor for better management and performance
Admission
I did not apply for many colleges since i was not allowed to travel outside for studies and instead study somewhere that requires me to be at home by night. The best i could go for was SRMAP university since it provides me the desired college and campus life. The infrastructure of this college is better than many universities in this country and i cannot be haopier to be studying over here and enjoy the exposure this campus is providing me with. I applied for KLU but it did not seem to match my requirements and didn't seem to provide opportunities that students want to seek for. I haven't gotten rejected by any university since i did not apply for them but the colleges i wanted to apply for were NMIMS and SYMBIOSIS. Again i was seeking for better opportunities and campus life which is why i decided to opt for them but life had another plans. So the eligibility criteria of SRMAP is your 10th and 12th board marks which must be more than 65%. For students who want to opt for BBA or BCOM degree just have to give an interview to one of the faculties assigned to them and answer the following questions.
Faculty
The faculty to student ratio is 1:20. Most faculties are friendly and approachable . They are supportive when the students seek help but expect initiative. I like Dr. Laksman rao sir because of his excellent work and teaching. He explains his subject that is principles of management with all real life examples. Next I respect Dr. Chalam sir for his dedication towards helping their students to acheive the highest marks and knowledge. The faculty really wishes the best for their students over here. I did not like Dr.Nafeesa mam as she barely attends the class herself and doesn't really go in dept to teach the subject that is MICROECONOMICS which is one of the very important subjects for management and commerce students. The course curriculum I believe is well modified according to the National Education Policy thus proving beneficial among the students and per semester we have one mid exam and three continuous learning assessments which calls for the students to be learning and presenting non stop. Students who are clearly not interested in studying only fail to clear the exams whereas the interested ones are all set to go.
Night Life
My favourite area is the tree court area in SRMAP university. They have beautiful flowers and trees planted with aesthetically pleasing lightings and walk ways giving you a resort type of ambiance. The hostellers can rest and walk around with their friends and chill in the campus without feeling bored or homesick. The hostellers curfew starts from 9pm for both boys and girls. Whereas the general campus timings are 8:00am to 5:50pm
