Course Curriculum Overview
The course that i took was BTech with specilization in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning. The syllabus followed was pretty good. One point to note was no matter what's BTech course you choose the subjects are goona remain the same for the first 2 Years for all CSE batches
Internships Opportunities
The internship were good but limited there were around 4500 students for placements out of which only 1000 gets placed into a company for internship so the competition was very high. The stipend range was from 10000-75000 per month.
Placement Experience
So talking about placements there are many opportunities but there are some particular conditions you should satisfy to get placed. First of all you should not have any backlogs that is an important one. Then all placements happen in the main campus so travelling to main campus is a minus. The preference for placements are first given to main campus and most students who get placed are in TCS.
Fees and Financial Aid
So the college fess per year for the B.Tech course no matter which specialisation you choose will be Rs 2,00,000 for tuition fees and on top of that you will be having book fees and cdc fees of around Rs 35,000 per year. Also some miscellaneous expenses like exam fees and other of 10,000. Then there are hostel fees, for AC room it would cost you around Rs 1.75 lakhs per year including mess fees and Non AC depends on the sharing size and varies from 1.2-1.5 lakhs per year. Talking about scholarships the students who meet the criteria during my time was having a minimum of 80% marks in 10th and 12th will get 50% scholarships on tuition fees.
Campus Life
So talking about overall experience of the campus life the first 2 years went online because of Covid dont remember how fast 4 years of my college life went. The campus was pretty small compared to main campus but the friends i made there was priceless i had friends from Kashmir to Kanyakumari. The time i spend in hostel the late night funs preparing for exams were next level. Talking about fests there were literally none. The only good thing i got from my campus were friends and a job.
Hostel Facilities
The food in the hostel was below average and the charge for that was 72,000 per year but the food they provided was not worth more than 15,000. The hostel rooms were very good the cleaning as well. The process for hostel booking was a mess you had to pay via DD no online payment. The rooms were spacious and had plenty of charging ports.
Admission
I had applied for around 5 colleges and had got selected for all of them the main reasons why i chose this college was because of the locality. The distance and cost of travel to Chennai was less compared to the other areas and the brand SRM was well known
Faculty
Ok so now talking about the faculties if im being honest most of them were friendly and approchable but still there were some faculties who showed preferences to particular students and ignored the others. The exams were also good, we had 3 Cycle tests per sem followed by the final exam and both the combined marks of cycle test and final exam had 50-50 value
Night Life
The nightlife as an hosteler in almost none. We had restrictions of gates closing by 9:30 Pm and would only open again at 5. Nightlife inside campus was basically none the only things you could do was jump out of hostel go party and come back agian in the morning
