Entrance Preview

I had given CGPET in 2012 and had got 492 rank.

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

I have opted for mechanical engineering. Curriculum basically focus on providing theoretical knowledge rather than practical knowledge.

Internships Opportunities

We have to find the companies in which we want to do internship. We are not provided with any stipend nor do any company come for the internship. Most of us do our internship from BHILAI STEEL PLANT, bhilai.

Placement Experience

4

Not much companies come to our campus. TCS is the company which recruits minimum of 100 students from on campus drive. Other than TCS the companies which come are Accenture, BALCO, indian navy, indian army and airforce, L&T, tata motors. TCS offered 3.33lakh (CTC) this yearand rest all companies package is near about the same. BALCo last year gave 4.23Lakh package. (only 4/5 students were selected)

College Events

4

Each department has its own association whose members are the students of the respective departments. They do organize events which are sometime branch specific or open for all branches. Then there are Groups at the college level also such as Clicks(photograph training), Music bands, etc which are operated by the students with the help of some faculty. There are groups like NSS, NCC, IE which are run by the faculties and organise different events, camps from time to time. Our college has an annual festival named OJAS which has many events in it like dancing, robo war, painting competioin, quiz, FAce of ojas, Talent hunt, treasure hunt and it is the biggest event in which many natonal level college also take part. There is a huge participation.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fees is feasible by a Middle class person. The fees structure for various semester are:1. 1st sem- rs.35,750/-2. 2nd sem- rs. 34,100/-3. 3rd sem- rs34,250/-4. 4th sem- rs 34,100/-5. 5th sem rs.31,850/-6. 6th sem rs. 31,700/-7. 7tth sem rs32,350/-8. 8th sem- rs. 32,200/-fees is to be paid semester wise.

Fees and Financial Aid

In my knowledge there no such facilty available as i haven't heard of it. there is one facility which i know of, that top 5 branch toppers from each branch can issue 6 books from toppers book bank for the whole semester.

Campus Life

3.5

Campus life is quite good. I have learnt many things which are helping me in my real life. There are various co-cirricular activities like basketball, cricket, football, etc and competitions are also held at intercollege level/ inter branch level. Our college is not biased on gender. It treats everyone equal. Talking about my branch male:female= 110:10 and just reverse is the case of CS branch. Our college has people from all religion, from far off places like bihar, jharkhand , Madhya pradesh. Our college does have its own student union which represent our college in university and each class has its own class representative.

Hostel Facilities

4

Hostel rooms are ok types. It depends on the availabilty of the rooms sometimes 4 students live in one room, somtimes 3 or 2. There is an almirah/ shelf and a table for each student in room. Each room has its own attached bathroom. The food in the mess is

Alumni/Alumna

We all know about ragging but in our college there is as such no ragging. Our seniors were our mentor and friends. They were always there to help us out at any point of time. As far as alumni are considered it is not that strong.

Exam Structure

In first year there were weekly tests and all. From second year, when we get into our branch there. There are 3 Class TEST in one semester and then The end semester exam. There are internals also which are quite hectic sometimes. Overall the exams are not

Faculty

The quality of teaching is excellent as compared to other colleges in state. BIT, durg has the most experienced faculties & some have experience of more than 18-20 years. Most of our faculties have done Phd. and quality of teaching is unmatched. Most impo

Placement Experience:

Final year students are eligible to appear for campus placements which starts towards the end of their 7th semester. Companies that visited for Civil Engineering: L&T, Adani, Stratview Research, PlanetSpark and several local firms. The highest packages were offered by Adani (approx 7 LPA) and L&T (6-7 LPA). Around 5-7 students received placement offers from the mentioned companies. It is important to note that a lot many students did not sit for campus placements as they had different career aspirations (government jobs, higher education, business ventures etc.) My plans were to prepare for upcoming competitive government exams as well as try my hand at something different and creative

1. Students from seventt semester and onwards are eligible for the campus placements. 2. There are ample numbers of comapnies visited in our college like schneider electric, bpcl, bhel, bhel, reliance, catterpillar, eil, and so on. As per the last year data around 130 comapnies made in to our campus and they offered around 800 plus offers to various studenst of different departments. 3. The highets package offered this year is 60 lakhs that is offered by DE Shaw and average package is something around 11 laks per annum 4. Taking considerations of students of all departments, almost 70 percent students get placed. 5. Presently my plan after getting degree is to get into a job.

Microtex, HCL, Wipro and many other IT companies gives us research projects and also their work as well. So, we basically have indirectly worked for them and the ones they feel can add more to their organization comes with a clear mind and take us with a package that we expect them to. So, placements are purely on performance as those who perform well are given best of placements.
