Sad Reality Of Hotel Management In India

The course curriculum was all good for the real world practice but we didn't got enough practice for anything for example today we got to learn a new dish and made it by ourselves also for today but after it we can never make that dish again in full 3 years of time spam in college. As cooking was not allowed in hostel and University kitchen was not accessible to us without class.

Internships were offered from various hotels like Radisson Blu Plaza, Delhi airport, and the le Meridian, Leela ambience, Taj hotel. From which I got placed in Radisson Blu Plaza stipend of ?1500 only they made us work in housekeeping cleaning rooms for the guests and handling their laundry and things to proper place. Helping guests checking in and checking out of hotel . Also we were made to do over time many times just because we were on internship and no student was given job placement after the internship got over. It's just a business for them.

From 5th semester students start getting placement the highest package got was 300000/ annum Companies like Haldiram, Barbecue Nation visited for placement also making us go far away from our native place to work at low wages.

Tuition fees - ?1,50,000/yr Hostel fees - ?80,000/yr Mess fees- ?40,000/yr Other charges like library and lab - ?20,000/yr Examination fees - ?10,000/yr Total approximate annual fees is ?2,50,000/yr Students can get merit scholarships if they have scored above 90% in their 12th or diploma they are only eligible for partial fees waiver

There was no proper aspects made in our campus life like club involvement not even a farewell party was organised but yes festivals like Ganesh Chaturthi, Holi , Diwali was celebrated in their respective dates but also in those time students from far away states went back to their home to celebrate the festivals due to which it was not so entertaining in campus to celebrate them.

Nothing except a bed light and fan was provided in the room also the rooms were very congested and smelly. We have to clean our rooms by ourselves and no staff was kept for that and even on weekly basis we were made to clean the hostel also. Food in mess was not appropriate so we always tried to eat out and save us from that food. And also no WiFi was provided in hostel. Rooms available outside were very good and also affordable 3000? per month with WiFi and washing machine and at a distance of just 100 meters from college.

I didn't wanted to choose this college, I got this according to the ranking i got in entrance exam of NCHMCT I wanted to go for IHM Pusa as they provid the best placement and our one just provide placement for name sake.

In our institute we had a student support naming Rana Sir he only paid attention to us when he wanted us to pay our fees after that he never help us out in any other thing also kept shouting on us without any reason. Ratio of teacher and students is like 10:150 But our teachers were nice and understanding always helped us in every matter.

We had gym in our college but it was very small and crowded and the timings were limited to 2 hours in evening from 5PM to 7PM for anyone who wants to go gym and same time to go out of the campus if you want to. Campus timings were 9AM to 5PM And public area closing time is 7PM Every student is required to be back in hostel before 7PM for attendance if they fail to appear for the attendance they have to wash all the dirty plates for that night in mess that is around 200 plates.
