Course Curriculum Overview

4

The course price of GITA is affordable in comparison to other engeneering colleges. The faculties prepare us to face the real world. They organise different seminars to increase our knowledge and help us to grow our confidence up. The exams are very frequent. Each semester should be of 6 months but we complete a year in 7-8 months that is each semester is 3 months or 3 and a half month.

Internships Opportunities

4

Tata consultancy services 3.7 ?10T-?25T Amazon 3.6 ?25T-?80T The companies gives a lot of projects and a group of people are assigned to perform this task and present them. The college help us to make our project more satisfied.

Placement Experience

4

After 6th semester the students are eligible to sit in campus placements. TCS, Infosys, cognizant, hp and other start up companies. They make various offers. Highest package in my view was of 2500000 per annum. And the avg is 5 lakhs. 50% of students getting placed. My plans after the degree is to persue MBA.

Fees and Financial Aid

Under B.tech there are several branches like CS, electrical, mechanical, civil. Almost all branches have same course fees that is 125000 - 140000 per year. If we include the students that avails the transport facilities it adds more 16000-18000 per year. And the hostel students are charged 50000 more. The college takes rupees 2500 as registeration fees per semester. There are no extra charges for labs and other activities. Overall in comparison to other colleges GITA provides the course in an affordable price.

Campus Life

4

Annual fest is held once a year on the month of February. The technical festivals are very frequent. The range and accessibility of books and journals available in the library is for everyone. The facilities and technological provisions within the classrooms are good, but each classroom should be provided with an air conditioner. The summers are very difficult for students to sit inside the classrooms. Different kinds of sports and extracurricular activities are offered on campus. GITA also has a student portal for the students to check their fees, attendance, results and other details.

Admission

I also applied in Silicon and CV Raman colleges in bbsr. But got my confirmed selection from GITA. The course fees is affordable and the placements are good, even the faculties are also very good. I didn't get rejected from any other colleges but as compared to CV raman the placement here in GITA is good. And I wanted to persue my engineering in computer science but I got electrical at silicon, so had no other choice but to quit silicon.

Faculty

5

The faculties are very cooperative and supportive. Some faculties are very rude and doesn't listen to you. Can't take the names but some faculties are so good that we don't feel ashamed or embarrassed to ask the same question again and again. Some are very arrogant and discourages you by taunting. It's a humble request to all the faculties that it you can't say something good then please don't say anything hurtful. The exams are neutral, neither too difficult nor too easy. Very less students fails. The course curriculum is very relevant.

Night Life

4

Inside the college campus we have gym. The timing is divided for girls and boys to use the gym. There are many cafes nearby and a mall named DN Regalia. Girls hostel gates are closes at 5 PM whereas boys hostel gates closes at 7PM. However you can order things from any platform and the hostel caretaker will provide you that but the students are not allowed outside after their respective hostel timings. The nearby area seems to be more dark and less crowded during night making it less safe for the girls.

After your 7th semi you will be eligible for campus placements Several reputed companies such as infosys,Wipro etc have visited our campus around my graduation time. The highest package offered was 6 LPA by infosys for the role of Data analyst while the average package stood at around 2.5 LPA to 3.2LPA . Approximately 60% or 6.5 CGPA secured students will be eligible for placements through campus drives. The course is relevant enough to teach you all the basics you would require in engineering though some of the courses can be changed and in place of those new courses can be addded for example for non physics student teaching them quantum mechanincs and that too the old quantum mechanics doesent seem to make sense . The exams are not so frequent and the papers can be rated as moderate

Also there are companies like Amazon or GOOGLE as well. The approx percentage including off and on campus is more than 90%. My plans are basically to explore my entrepreneurship skills.

Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology - [KIIT], Bachelor of Technology [B.Tech] (Computer Science and Engineering)
Reviewed on Mar 27, 2024(Enrolled 2021)

Placement Experience:

Placement record is not so good.. companies like Microsoft and Google have blacklisted KIIT due to poor performance and mismanagement by the KIIT in providing with the right candidates. KIIT shortlists students in basis of multiple tests taken on platforms like AMCAT and on that basics provides the profiles of best performing candidates to the companies invited for campus hirings regardless of the field and job specifications and requirements, so basically KIIT has a very below average performance Training and Placement Cell as they lack decision making and management skills to segregate candidates for hirings according to their skills and not by their general scores and CGPA. NOTE: Companies have shown least interest in KIIT for last 2 years and the poor performance of previous batches and mismanagement by KIIT authorities. KIIT promises 100% placements but that is actually far from reality.
