Dislikes
- As i am just a fresher, i have not explored much to dislike anything. But i can say lifts are a thing to be disliked here.😠I mean we have our classes in 5th floor and the lifts stop working anytkme.
Course Curriculum Overview
According to a fresher's perspective, the course curriculum is not that difficult. I mean everything which we studied in Std. 12 is there jn the curriculum just in an advanced form. Subjects such as Soft skills in the curriculum prepares us for real-world applications and helps hs in improving our physical and mental well being. Teaching methods require a bit improvement as the teachers are really quick and few of the students fail to catch the speed of the teachers.
Placement Experience
Since i am just a first year student, i dont have any real knowledge of placements here. So i will just tell you what i am aware about. Talking to few of the seniors made me realise that placements are not that strong here. But still the average package is 5LPA and the highest package offered is 27LPA. Percentage of students getting placed is not much. My plans are of trying for off campus placements if not placed on campus.
Fees and Financial Aid
For B.Tech-CSE in DYPIU Akurdi, fees for each semester is 1,12,500 along with a registration fees of 2,500 per semester and a caution deposit of 10,000 is taken during admission which is refundable at the end of the program. Hence, the total fees for this course is 9,30,000. Comparatively, B.tech-CSE is the most expensive course here. However, the university provides various scholarships based on merit and needs of meritorius students.
Campus Life
DY Patil International University holds an annual fest named Indus Fiesta in the month of January-February. The university is not that great when it comes to cultural events. Inter college events are organised by different clubs and communities which hardly lasts 2-3 hours.
Admission
Honestly speaking, i was just an average student. I gave entrance exams such as JEE,CUET but my scores were not that good for me to get into a good college. Later on i applied for KIITEE, and i was getting aerospace engineering, but i wanted computer science. I also applied for NMIMS, also got admission in CSE but fees of NMIMS is much more than the colleges i was trying. Fees of NMIMS was the reason behind me not joining the course there. After all when nothing was working out, i filled the application form of DYPIU, within 10-12 days i got a mail that i am supposed to give a common entrance test. The test was conducted on google meet. Within 2 days I got the admission offer letter, and hence i took admission here.
Faculty
Providing the insights of the University, faculty members are nice and supportive. I like the teaching methods here. Although few faculties are not regular but since its college, its not a big issue. However, irregular faculties also manage to complete the syllabus on time. I like our academic co-ordinator sir. About the exams, i would say that we have our mid sems during month of september-october which is of 25 marks, level of questions is moderate and we have ur end sems during the month of december. The course curriculum is updated as per the latest education policy.
Night Life
Around the college campus, we dont have much places for hanging out. Akurdi is all of a student hub. However, we have a few cafes for hanging out. But the locality is safe to roam around even during night time. I wish more hangout places were there for the students to chill
