Course Curriculum Overview

5

Overall, the course of this college is similar to the ones in other IHM' S The college teachers you a lot of things that are useful in the real world scenarios during the job but also lack some of the basic parts such as the front office department course does not include teaching opera that is being used in most of the hotels overall, the course is easy to complete if you have decent level of intelligence

Internships Opportunities

5

all the major hotel companies that come for placement offer you two type of jobs, one is the management trainee job that gets you for a training of 1 1/2 to 2 years after which you'll become an assistant manager in the relevant department. The quick service, Restaurant also offer you management trainee job in facility management or shift management, et cetera The placement process to get into hotels is extremely difficult as the rounds can be from 7 to 15, wearing from hotel to hotel

Placement Experience

5

The college offers a decent to extravagant placement opportunities, 95% of the students applying for placement through campus skit selected into their required field. The major hotel companies that come to the college for campus placements are the Oberoi. The Taj The Marriott, the Hilton group, the Hyatt group and many more, the major QSR that come to the college for placement are the McDonald's Starbucks, third wave, Coffee, et cetera. There are various other companies that come to the college for placements such as the ABFRL Inch and brick, et cetera. The packages offered by the hotels that come for management training positions is generally 25 to 35,000 per month. But for retail sector or the QSR, it is generally 40 to 50,000 per month CTC.

Fees and Financial Aid

I am currently in my 5th sem and so far i have paid a total of ? 350000. I will now be paying 70k for my next and final semester. The whole fees inclusive of everything stands out to be approx ? 450000. And i have not received any concessions for my reservation category i.e., ST. The other courses offered are, Diploma in Food Production, Food and beverage service, Bakery. The fees for these courses have changed this year and stands out to be approx ?1.5lacs for one year. You will also be receiving a diploma certification after completion of this course. You should not expect any scholarships or financial aid from the college. Instead you can avail for scholarships provided by the govt. according to your eligibility criteria.

Campus Life

4

being a government college in a sector that is being neglected or not taken care of in the country by the government, There are various clubs offered by the college, namely the cynix Club The music club, the dance club, the tourism club. In each club has its pros and cons, but all the clubs overall are decent.

Hostel Facilities

4

The hostel mess does not provide enough food for the students, specially in rotis. There is a count kept every day. Each student is allowed to eat only two rotis per meal. The hostel WARDEN is a chill guy until last year. The Hostel did not provide any major facilities, except for an old rusty gym and a badminton court, but this year the hostel has been upgraded a bit. The single seater rooms have got an air conditioner, installed discriminating with the people not able to pay high fees to get a single seater room and have to stay in three seater room without AC in the scorching hot climate of New Delhi.

Admission

to enter the college, there is an exam conducted by NCHMCT. You need to get amazing scores in your NCHMCT exams, which are easy to get if you are versed with the basic maths and current affairs and static GK just basic. I personally did not apply for any other college because this was the college ranked number one in the country.

Faculty

5

The college faculty has overall very good experience of the industry and as well as they have a lot of knowledge about their area of expertise. The core structure is divided into six semesters. Every semester. You have two exams that are for the NCHMCT. One is the mid SIM, which does not include practical exams, and the other exam that is at the end of the term has practical exams and theory exams. The exams are of hundred marks each for the course subjects and 50 marks for ancillary subjects. The faculty to student ratio is constantly improving and the number is sufficient. There are several professors who indulge in politics and I cannot name them. I would edit this review after six months. Once I have completed with my course, some of the faculty members are even interested in personal lives of students and track you down through social media stories. Overall the college has a mixed review of Faculty members.

Night Life

2

The area around the college has not much to offer other than the Omi stall where people like to smoke cigarettes The hostel timings are 6 A.m. to 8 PM, the students can get a leave from the hostel by getting an out pass, signed by the hostel warden. Overall, the hostel life is good, but the life in campus is not so good.

Placement Experience:

Students become eligible for campus placements in the final year but students can earn from day 1 by indulging themselves in ODC(outdoor catering) in which the college will let you know about the job and you can go to a particular event and can earn a stipend from 700-1200 per day. Every year the college offers students the to run a food stall inside the college premises which is known as a food fest in which students can work in team and can earn money as well. The average placement package is 6,00,000 p.a. and can go as high as 12,00,000 and of course as you get more experienced you get paid accordingly. The college provides 100% which means every student will sit in the interviews and can get the job accordingly to their expertise. As I am interested in the kitchen department I will find a job in the same department.

The college management is poor, takes a lot of time to get a new machine in a kitchen if an old one gives away. In short, it's a good college, but I'd suggest to go to private colleges owned by Oberoi or ITC or Taj. They are better in terms of quality of
