What Students Say
Likes
- There are good options if you want to participate in college clubs.
- Attendance criteria is taken super seriously
- Campus is great, the infrastructure looks good
Dislikes
- Faculty are not really helpful. They do not pay attention to what a student is capable of doing out of the box, instead they are stuck for one criteria that is attendance.
- There's more classroom learning than practical learning which is not how life works out of the college.
- College runs in a very unsystematic way, if they have any announcement to do, they do it in the morning of the same day or just a night before.
Course Curriculum Overview
I feel the subject are sort of relevant but repetitive. In each sem we should be taught different but we were taught a subject in 2 semesters. In the final year of graduation they provide subjects related to our specialisation. Teaching method is the same old and boring way. They lecture you and make notes
Placement Experience
Our placement cell wasnt active till last year but this it they have become active and giving students opportunities to work. But i am not satisfied with the companies and package they're providing us with. After spending so much on fees and everything, we expect a decent package and a job. My specialisation is HR, and not a single company has approached for this field. Same goes with specialisations such as finace. Only marketing, sales and admission counsellor are the job roles they're offering with a very low package of 3-4lpa
Fees and Financial Aid
I do not have exact numbers in my mind but i paid 1,90,000 something for the first year. It includes 30,000 admission fee which is non refundable and 5,000 exam fee per semester. On the basis of your score in 12th standard you can get scholarship upto 100%. I got 40% scholarship for the first year. To maintain it, we have to secure at least 75% attendance and cpga 8 or above . For the second year the fee was increased . I paid somewhere around 2,00,000. And for the third year i paid 2,10,000.
Campus Life
Theres annual fest that happens once in a year, usually near winters only, but gets cancel most of the times. Just like last year it did not happen and got canceled for some reasons. Also theres freshers every year, but only 1st year students are allowed If we talk about library, its very good, you'll be able to find any book related to your curriculum. Classroom facilities are also okayish. As the smart board doesnt work that well. Sports does not have any scope as such other clubs are active and they give opportunities for students to perform and participate. But just like other colleges there are a lot of politics among clubs.
Admission
I applied for multiple colleges. DU- ARSD college in south canpus delhi, i got admission over there but i did not chose it since it was very close to my home and i wanted to move out to see how life works. Amity University- i applied there but i did not got much of positive responses from friends about the same, also the fees was pretty high. Then i took admission in sharda university, biggest regret of my life. They made many promises about providing cultural exposure, internships and placement. But they did not give any internship. And when student went on finding ones for themselves they did not let students do it because they did not gave NOC, asking students to sit and maintain their attendance. They wont give you opportunities and when you try to create ones for yourself, they wont let you do it either
Faculty
I personally feel there is a lot of favouritism between faculty and students. If youre always running after specific teachers then the chances for you to be able to approach a faculty with certain problem would be very higher. Faculty is not helpful at all, they do not support students like they are supposed to. Our HoD, ruchi jain is super rude and non sympathetic towards students. There are basically two exams in a semester Mid sem- holds 10% weightage for overall grading. Then comes class assignment and behaviour, viva, presentation, projects everything which holds nearly 15% End sem- holds 75% weightage There are 4 questions in mid sem 8 questions in end sem
Night Life
My personal favourite hangout spot is gate 4. Almost everyone in the college hangs out there only, enjoying the street food. Theres this market names jagat near university where a lot of students go to hang out . Also theres the ground near mandela hostel where people just sit a talk. At evenings, hostel students do jamming sessions as well. But the area outside campus is not safe to hang out at night. So we dont see students outside. Girls have to report to their hostel at 9pm in summers and 8pm in winters by the latest. No entry is allowed afterwards. And for boys its 10pm.
Other Applied Colleges
Amity University | Bachelor of Business Administration [BBA]
Because of its high fees, i did not applied for it
