Course Curriculum Overview
I chose BBA in marketing to get more knowledge about the outside market and how big brands are made and this course teaches you exactly that with subjects like Retail Management, Digital Marketing, Consumer Behaviour and Sales Management, Branding, Advertising, and practical knowledge with Internship Project in 3rd year. The practical knowledge you get in your internship project makes you industry ready. There is still very much lack in practical based knowledge in this course and should include the hands on experience on how to start a business from scratch. The timing of the college is from morning 8:30 to afternoon 1:30. This is the maximum you have to stay in college, there are days with less lectures also.
Internships Opportunities
The internship are generally not provided by colleges they just provide you information about the openings of roles in different companies and help mediate at some points. The stipend varies with companies that provide the internship and is not fixed.
Placement Experience
The students are eligible for campus placement in 6th semester and have to register themselves for placements. There is proper a placement cell in the college which overlooks the process. Companies like ICICI Prudential, Accenture, TCS, Cognizant etc visit the college for placements. Very low number of students take placement at this time as most of the students go for post-graduation.
Fees and Financial Aid
The year wise fees are nearly 42000, which includes: Admission fee: ?50 Tuition fee: ?18600 Laboratory fee: ?3000 Library fee: ?200 Gymkhana fee: ?250 Internal exam fee: ?750 Soft skill and Industrial visit fee: ?3500 College Development fee: ?3500 Lab development fee: ?7000 Project fee: ?1000 Maintenance fee: ?2500 Stud. Activities: ?1000 and other nominal fees. Scholarships: MahaDbt is available for SC ST category they only have to pay half the fees of regular student. Central Sector Scholarship is available for other students through NSP.
Campus Life
The overall campus life of SP College is good there are multiple fest's organised in the college like URMEE, COMMERCE FEST, and various departmental fest like INSPIRO, BUSINESS EXPOSURE WEEK of BBA department. The College has a very big library but accessibility of the books might not be good. The classrooms are technology based, the have projectors installed and bba department have smart boards and a computer lab for students. The college have a dedicated sports department for all the sport participation.
Admission
I chose this college due to some reasons like less fees as per other colleges, location of the college is in the middle of the Pune city, the campus of college is very attractive. I did not apply to any other colleges since i only wanted to get admission here and knew that I would get admission. The process of admission is that you have to give CET Exam for BBA and do the procedure as per the government website and you can find various videos on YouTube.
Faculty
The faculty to student ratio is moderate, there are only three faculties which are permanent and others are on the visiting based. The teachers are very approachable and have a very good relationship with students. Since the college is a empowered autonomy, so it can have it's own exams and can have its own pattern, therefore the exams are easy and doesn't have to be afraid of them. The exams are mostly divided into two parts Internal and External. In internal you have your viva and assignments and in external you have to give a written based exam. Almost all the students clear the exams.
Night Life
The College closes at 5 pm and no students are allowed inside except hostel students, and the hostel students are only allowed entry/exit till 8 pm. The college has various canteens and hangout places like open cafeteria, playground etc The locality is very safe to roam around at night.
