Likes

Campus is really nice with a well maintained gym and completely air conditioned library
Faculty is very good in some department in others it is ok.
The course is tough as it is in any other college and ni need to worry about the placements you can work as JR in the hospital itself with a decent salary

Dislikes

The lecture theatres are not air conditioned well
Vehicles are not allowed in the campus area which is a problem in rainy season or in summer

Course Curriculum Overview

This course makes us doctors who save lives so that is the real reason I chose this course This course interaction with a lot of people as you are dealing with patients everyday Some subjects can be added to only PG Level as community medicine

Class Size: 125Course Fees: INR 150000 per year

Fees and Financial Aid

From first year to third year the college tution fees is 1.45 lakh and 5000 development fees and 6000 hostel fee is you opt for hostel and for the last half year it is 80000. The fees is same for all categories whether sc, st, obc, PWD,FF, ews Scholarship are available from schemes like HDFC or other NGOs but you will have to apply from there online portal as there is no integration between the college and ngo

Campus Life

There is annual fest named crescendo with many cultural and sports activities, singing events and many more. All the books and journals related to course are available in the library. The technological provision is alright class has speaker, mics, digital screens for teaching Student run groups are not present at the time I am writing the review but maybe in future

Admission

I applied for all the government colleges in uttarakhand and gmc haldwani was my first choice as this college have the largest campus the biggest hospital and the most patient inflow. You have to give neet exam and you will be selected in the college through a state level councelling process based on merit

Faculty

The faculty to student ratio is pretty good and the faculties are also approachable Dr. Vandana from first year anatomy is my favorite faculty she teach the subject very nicely and in a fun way also clinically correlating the subject There are no faculties to be disliked everyone is good in their own way There are 2 terminal exams one pre University exam and university exam every year

You have to crack neet ug . Cut off of year 2024 is 660 which is higher than expected this year. Teachers are very supportive and seniors are the god for the juniors and their is nothing like ragging in this college

My honest thoughts

Course Curriculum Overview:

Our college curriculum is relevant to our course in this field we save lives of many patients which influenced me the most that's why I always wanted to become a doctor. After the inter introduction of clinical posting we get early exposure to the patients which prepare us for real word application of our knowledge. Time to time exams are conducted here to test are abilities and areas and subjects so that we can improve in that particular field.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Attendance criteria is 75 percent it should be reduced More practical based ques should be asked in the exam and more emphasis on practical knowledge should be done. Proper class test of each subject should be conducted. We have yearly based exams.

Nice college

Placement Experience:

We get a stipend internship of 17000 per month and after the internship, if u have a bond then u get 5 yr compulsory service under the government of which u get a salary of 70000-80000 per month. You can post in hilly areas.

HIMS mbbs college(dehradun) review

Remarks:

The college is excellent in terms of studies and reputation. It is renowned college of the state and being medical college, the patient inflow is also high. The teachers are excellent. However there is not much attention given to cultural activities and sports.

Perfect place for quality education

Remarks:

Apart from the fee structure the rest facility in the college is nice. Education is good quality and hospital facility is also nice. Life in college is decent and the extra corricular activities are also ediquate.

As such college is nice. On educational basis it is superb. But others activities are very less organized. No events. No trips.

I choose government medical College Haldwani because of its affordable fee structure. Excellent clinical exposure and reputation as one of in Uttarakhand. It offers a balance of quality education and hands on patient care due to its association with a high patient hospital. Comparison with other college colleges applied to. Serial number one,Doon medical College -this college is also good, but this college is new, so I prefer GMC Haldwani over this Serial number two, Government medical College, Almora- This College is also new and located on Hill area, so I didn't prefer this as this is very far from my house. Admission process at Gmc Haldwani:- Eligibility is 10+2 with PCB and neat qualification and minimum age 17 years, Exam accepted. NEET UG is mandatory.
