Course Curriculum Overview
The current curriculum is of national standards as they are influenced from IITs moreover semester period are small to allow the students for internship to get real life industry experience. Exams are really a bit hard since there is very less time between mid sem and end sem exam.Moreover the lab test are held in between them so it becomes a more hectic
Placement Experience
The Placement is quite Impressive,due to its vast alumni network many reputed companies such as Maruti Suzuki,Tata Power, Aditya Birla, Accenture,JSW, Wipro, Cognizant etc Come for Campus Recruitment. Placement is core branches such as electrical, mechanical is high (<90%) .While software companies also provide good number of placement. I will try to join companies like Maruti Suzuki,JSW etc and also try to fetch good GATE score for further study
Fees and Financial Aid
The annual fees is 81500/-. It is divided into two semester for the odd semester the fees will be 34000/- and for the even semester it is 37500/- It can be divided further into hostel fees as 17000/- in even and 17500/- in odd. The remaining are tution fees. Per sem registration fees is 0 if done without late fine. Development fees of 3500/- need to be submitted during admission Department maintenance fees varies from 500-3000 branch wise need to be submitted Once during the course
Campus Life
There are many Clubs and Societies in the University alike in IITs and NITs. Technical clubs like Idea and Innovation Cell, Robotics Society,SAE,IEEE, Aerotech etc are there.Cultural clubs are also there for singing, dancing drama etc. the technical and Cultural fest Samavesh x Vassaunt occur during March &April which is a three day event with students from the University and Other Colleges participating in it.
Hostel Facilities
The Hostel Facility is quite affordable and cheap with respect to other colleges.there are 7 boys hostel and five girls hostel which accomodate more than 7000+ students. PGs and rented room are also available nearby to the College Campus. Food quality in the hostels are also good with different types of food that changes every month according to seasons and seasonal vegetables and fruits available
Admission
Veer Surendra Sai University of Technology is in Burla, Sambalpur which is near to my home town so it was my first preference.Moreover i have known some seniors here. The reputation is also good as placement, Campus, faculty everything is of good standard. I applied other colleges like OUTR(CET) , Bhubaneswar which is far from my place.I applied for the Electronic and Instrumentation department which couldn't get due to low percentile in JEE MAINS
Faculty
Faculties are well educated and experienced in both teaching and industrial activities. Faculty to students ratio is good (perfect in most branches and a little less in some) Btech course got 8 semester.Each semester got 5 subject in each for first 4 semester and in 5th&6th there are 6 subject in each semester. In final two semester there are 3 subject and a minor project and a major project respectively. Two exams per sem: mid sem (30)+ end sem (50) And internal marks of 20 Total 30+50+20= 100 marks per subject
