College Life Experiences in SRM University, Delhi NCR campus

Positive : Placement for CSE students. You will love the opportunity you might get here. Other colleges are not good in providing placement opportunities. Negative : 1. Small campus. 2. Attendance and leave system is not suitable for everyone. 3. Hostel food.

It is almost same as other private Engineering Colleges. 40% internal marks 60% external marks. Inshort 40% free marks and you need to study for 60% marks. Passing criteria is 50% overall. Two mid terms with 10 and 15 % weightage and then one semester exam 35% weightage.

Placement opportunities are more than required. The catch here is , you need to spend your better half of 4 th year in Chennai campus where all the major placement drivest happens. If you arr a CSE engineering, then you will most probably get your first job. Companies like Infosys TCS offers 1000+ job offers (combined as of 2019 placement). Big companies like Amazon, Microsoft , Adobe , Delloite, KPMG , MuSigma also give ample opportunity to the CSE students. If you are from non-tech stream then placei is not that good. As of now I have 4 offers and I can choose my career. Placement will never disappoint you if you are a hard worker in SRM. Your struggle will pay off definately.

Rubaroo and Innovate are flagship events along with many department level small events all around the year. The two main flagship event are far better than the departmental level events. One is totally based on sports and extracurricular activities. Other one is technofest kind, robo wars , coding jams , etc are some attractions.

A bit expensive as compared with the college life experiences. Don't opt for Hostel. The food court (mess) is real mess. No one likes hostel food. Almost 2 lakhs with hostel per year. You need to pay in one instalment at the start of the odd semester.

For students with 90% + marks in 12 , and toppers in each branch gets a good scholarship in their tuition fees. Loan facility are discussed with everyone during the induction period when you first join the college. Almost all banks easily provides student educy loan. Even I took a 4 lakh rupees education loan.

Sports A+. If you are good in sports , you will get ample opportunity to showcase your skills. Even casual players enjoy soprts life inside college. For first year student, their is 2 hours break is provided just for sports so that they can cope up with seniors. Labs are good and up-to-date. Not extremely good but they are above average and well maintained. As colleges have different clubs , their are a lot of things you can do in name of extracurricular activities.

Don't opt for Hostel. The food court (mess) is real mess. No one likes hostel food. Infrastructure and facilities are good. Football ground , table tennis , badminton court etc are inside the campus.

Senior students are helpful and will guide you until you are connected with them. As of I know , alumni network is not good at all. I never even heard about any annual alumanit meet or something related to alumni in my 3.5 year college life. If you are good in making friends then you can easily make friends with seniors and then they will definitely guide you. Even after college ends , college alumni in corporate companies helps juniors.

Facilities are good in terms of communication but if you talk about topic delivery and teaching then almost every 3 out of 5 aces their respective subjects. Some faculties are just here to earn , spend 50 mins of their lecture just in taking attendance and giggling around. Mind you, these are the ones who give 95-100 % marks in internal assessment.
