- Majority of the department staffs are very friendly
- College has a decent patient flow, therefore better exposure to clinical practices
- Extracurricular activities like arts, sports, festival celebrations, intercollege fest are a plus point of this college
Dislikes
- Hostel infrastructure should be improved, not enough space
- Latest technologies in dentistry should not given much access to UG students.
- Some departments need further improvement in their infrastructure.
Course Curriculum Overview
Its hight time to revise the curriculum. There are quota requirements in curriculum... Which is actually good. Curriculum should definitely include recent advances in dentistry. Frequency and timing of exams are ok to follow.
Internships Opportunities
One year for compulsory rotatory internship can be done in this college. Facilities for research papers and article presentations are available. Dr. Jacob Kuruvila, Department of public health dentistry provide proper guidance for research purposes.
Fees and Financial Aid
When I joined the college(2018) I paid tution fee of Rs 304500 per annum,special fee of Rs 42000 on first year, Rs 32000 on following years... An additional amount of Rs 20000 is paid as caution deposit. For NRI seats tution fee was Rs 600000 per annum.
Campus Life
There are many cultural events hosted by the college. One of the best event is Interdents, hosted on october or november every year which includes all the govt and private dental colleges in Kerala, done 3 days including arts, sports and intellectuals. Every year there will be Arts, Sports and other festival celebrations Library provide wide varieties of books and journals, E library facility also present.
Hostel Facilities
Rooms on hostel are actually congested. Some rooms are with attached bathrooms, some are not. Wash basins and washrooms are common on every floor. Drinking water is provided in cans which is present only on ground floor. Meal quality and menu are decent. Fee structure for hostel varies for single room to sharing rooms.
Admission
This college is one of the best self financing college in kerala with good patient flow... That attracted me to join here. Admission to this college is purely based on rank list of NEET UG. Admission process is not tedious.
Faculty
Majority of the faculty members are approachable and friendly except for few. Faculty to student ratio is decent. Department of conservative and endodontics, Department of oral and maxillofacial surgery, are really good. Dr. Jimmy George from Department of Prosthodontics, Dr. Krishnana Hari from Department of conservative are really good teachers. Sufficient number of internal exams are routinely done every year. College is strict in internal marks and attendence( minimum 80%).
