Course Curriculum Overview

5

My course is B.tech. When i completed my 12th i was looking and asking all my seniors and senior cousins about the opportunities i should explore and the kind of course i should do. And they all recommended computer science so thats why i choose it. According to me in todays world AI is developing quite fast and everything we do or use has a hint of technology to it. So one has to have his/her way with computers

Fees and Financial Aid

The annual fees for my course is 4 lakhs, but this does not include the hostel and personal expenses.hostel expense costs around 3 lakhs and personal expense on top is about 30 - 40 thousend per year. Which accumulates to a total of around 7 and a half lakhs annualy. The fee structure has been consistent and has not increased over the years. Caution deposit was 20,000 along with registration fees which was around 5000 and an admission fee of 10,000. The lab fees is around 25000. My batchmates who are SC And ST pay less. Their annual fees comes in at around 2.5 lakh for the college. I did not get qualified for any scholarship so i dont know much about that

Campus Life

4

There are two festivals held in SRM. 1st is the Aarush even which is usually done in october it has many activities for the students like car shows, concerts, gaming events and much more. 2nd one is the MILAN which is theri biggest event and held in March. People from all over Chennai come and take part in this. Just like aarush this also has a lot of activities and convert shows. There are clubs in the college like tech clubs hacker clubs startup clubs and all that which can make campus life interesting for some individuals. I never joined a club. I mean i explored a lot of them but none in particular ever spoke to me

Admission

So i applied to SRM And Thappar institute at the same tiem. I got the confirmation back from srm but Thappa was not allowing me a seat in CSE due to the cutoof score but in mechanical engineering. I was not reallly interested in mechanical so with the other few habdful of colleges besides SRM, me and my parents delt this was the best choice so i took admission. For addmission they take their own exam which about 25000 students give. And depending on your rank in that exam, they award you scholarships

Faculty

3

Faculty to student ratio is pretty normal withe their being 2 teachers for each subject for us. But the faculty is quite strict and not too frank with the students. J Uma which was our math teacher in the first sem was really nice. M Balaganesan which was our math teacher in the second sem was very rude and not too nice. Their are 3 cycle tests in each semester and the final university exams. The cycle tests are aquite easy if you have studied for them and with the university exam it is the same.

Placement Experience:

Students can join job drives from the 7th term. Many firms visit the campus for jobs and offer roles in tech and other fields. The pay varies by firm and role. EEC has a good job rate and gives help for job prep. After my degree, I plan to work in the tech field and grow my skills.

Placement Experience:

Students are open to campus placements from 2nd year onwards. There are many companies who visit such as Delloite, Accenture, Cognizant, TCS, Amazon, NatWest, Nokia, etc. Highest package offered is 42 lpa and lowest is maybe 2-4lpa. Around 90% of students get placed here. My plans is to get a job through campus recruitment. Currently I got an internship through campus recruitment in Cognizant so the recruitment is quite nice here.

Placement Experience:

One thing I really need to appreciate at CIT is its placement training program. The placement team conducts regular sessions on 1. aptitude 2. coding 3. communication skills 4. group discussions and 5. interview preparation which helped me feel more confident during placements. The trainers were friendly and always encouraged us to improve our skills step by step. They provide continuous guidance and feedback throughout the training process. Mock interviews and one to one assessments helped me to understand my strength and weak areas and I work on improvements . These sessions not only improved my technical and communication skills but also boosted my confidence . The placement training team played an important role in preparing me for career opportunities and industry expectation

Chennai Institute of Technology is an instituition that truly prioritizes student career growth . The placement cell is exceptionallu well-organized ,consistently connecting students with reputed companies across various industries. What makes CIT stood out is the quality of its training staff. They focus heavily on communication , technical knowledge and competitive preparation ,align students with what top companies expect ,and contiuosly push us to improve and meet industry standards. Their structured training helped me to clearly identify my strengths and work on my weak areas, which made a huge difference during interviews and boosted my overall confidence. The department faculty are equally commnedable ,knowledgable ,approachable and genuinely invested in student career. Overall CIT is an excellent choice for anyone focused on building a strong and sucessful career
