Course Curriculum Overview

4

The curriculum teaches many real world applications. There is a lot of practical and logic based teaching. Better study material should be given for the bcom subjects (not ACCA subjects). Exams take place im October and March. It is usually from 11am to 1pm. There is sufficient time to clear the exam as it is a 50 marks paper. It is moderately difficult.

Internships Opportunities

3

There is internships avaliable for the marketing field. They even offer online jobs which makes if eash for students. Stipend is around 10k per month. I have not taken part in this so i dont know much about the tasks.

Placement Experience

3

I have not been placed yet as i am still in second year. However, there is a placement cell. This cell provides internship to students. In third year various companies come for interviews. They offer decent packages.

Fees and Financial Aid

Bcom fees is separate between 15-20k for open category. If you are from maharshtra quota then it is cheaper. If you are from other state quota then it is around 20k. ACCA (international finance) fee is separate 150000 for 3 years. It is payable in 3 installments.

Campus Life

5

Campus life is great. it is very big and spacious. there is cleanliness everywhere. the washrooms however can be improved. the events arw verh well planned and fun to take part in. there are many clubs that you can take part in according to your preference.

Admission

I applied to symbiosis college of arts and commerce. I got confirmation as well. I didnt choose this because the fees were very high as compared to BMCC. I also applied to MIT-WPU. I got confirmation as well. But this was even more expensive than symbiosis and it was pretty far from where i live. So i chose bmcc as it was affordable and i got early confirmation and the admission process was fairly easy. The admission process went smoothly. I got in through merit. I went from other state quota so i got in the first list itself. The cut offs for general category go till 70%.

Faculty

4

ACCA course has less students so the faculty is able to focus on each and every student. Faculty is very kind and easy to approach to. Audit and financial management faculty is very nice. They teach very well and are very patient. Performance measurement and financial reporting faculty are also good teachers and very approachable. There are 7 mcq exams and 4 external theory exams. They are of moderate difficulty. 98% clear the exams. The course curriculum is very relevant.

Placement Experience:

At TCSC placements are quite good as anyone. Even the SOBO colleges and Mithibai don't have placements as good as us. So this is why I always dreamt of studying here because since last 6-7 years, Thakur College placements have gone better and higher.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The B.com is not a very comprehensive and complex degree to complete for someone who wants to pursue his/her career in finance. It can be referred as an initial start or push start for one's finance journey over the years. Also the relevance of B.com in real world is gradually decreasing day by day.

Remarks:

The good thing is that the college was not strict and was never forcing us to study rather it was seeing to it that it gave us proper advice and help us reach more towards my career goal. The bad part would be there were may staff which was very dull and was not kind, and no importance was given to correct their behaviour although it was evident by all.
