Likes
- There are over 20 blocks at the campus and it is impossible to find a single flaw there.
- Not just from outside but even the facilities inside are equally good.
- Jharkhand isn't as progressive as other states but our college is on the verge of progress.
Dislikes
- There are two canteens which are divided among boys and girls canteen. We can't enter girls canteen and they cant enter ours.
Course Curriculum Overview
In Jharkhand engineering is indeed a little far fetched dream for many. Our college though has produced top class engineers and Civil Engineering has been my go to subject since childhood. My dad has been in the same industry and so are my other family members. Thus, it was more of family influence in me choosing this course and honestly I have no problem whatsoever studying here as I can't point a single area where college needs improvement in my books.
Placement Experience
BGE Energy Systems and Bhel are two top recruitment companies of Civil students. Some local companies in the infra space also come for placements which is around about 40-50%. It is unfortunate that a college of our stature who is trying every possible thing can't reach 100% placements or let's say even 80% or more.
Fees and Financial Aid
Since I have taken admission under SC quota, the actual fees which is a shade less than 2 lakhs, I just have to pay 100k yearly. My friends who are from general category has to pay close to 2 lakhs. Not just scholarship on reservation but students who are merit holders of JEE also get scholarships.
Campus Life
The main sport of our campus is Volleyball and we have volleyball competitions being played in leagues every year. Besides that we have basketball and cricket ground too. Our annual fest is Hridam which happens just before the final sems are about to end. A little strictness is there as boys and girls are not allowed to participate in dance together but who cares at least we are given a chance to showcase our talent.
Admission
Every engineer aspirant just have one dream and that is IIT. For Civil, IIT Kharagpur is the best in India and I was rejected from there because of the scores I had. Once I knew I can't be at IIT Kharagpur, i decided that I won't leave my hometown as we do have a world class college in our college. Admissions here are based on state entrance and JEE scores.
Faculty
Faculties are hired from top institutes and the college has made sure that students are infused with top level education. College has been successful in this parameter as if faculties are the point of judgement of a college, our college will rate quite high because of them.
